It might behoove the boys in Red to win the game today, because they draw Kershaw on the Koast tomorrow. And that ain't happenin'.

Congratulations to Dayan Diaz!

I don't expect him to finish with some great slashline, but I was wrong about him. I simply figured if he hadn't hit much from 2012-2014 he wasn't going to start approaching age 30. He has certainly showed me.

No one seem to notice or mind when his BB to K ratio was pretty bad last year........it should not be surprising that he is doing what he is doing even with his ability to hit the ball when he does.

I noticed, but I did and still do believe it can improve. Suarez has shown the ability to take walks in the minor leagues, something Duvall never really has done. He needs to improve it, but he's younger and it's a bit more dramatic with Duvall considering he's still in single digits on walks on the year.

The thing about Pasta is he doesn't wait for the bullpen to blow the game. He just takes care of it himself.

That's leadership.

;)

(If we're being honest, he's had some really bad luck today. Miley's hit to start the 2-run 3rd with two outs was pure luck. Both "hits" to start this inning were luck. (Well, at least Aoki's was. The other had to be overturned on replay.)

Yes, Pasta sucks, but today he wasn't as bad as the numbers indicate.

It's true that today was not all his fault in terms of hits, there was bad luck involved, but he still had 3 walks compared to just 1 strikeout, and gave up solid base hits when he needed to bare down and get an out.

I'm done with him.

Defensive indifference is a dumb official scoring option. That is all.

In my opinion, a fielder's choice (defensive indifference) should only be scored if nobody is holding the runner AND nobody covers the base.

In this case I think it should have been scored a stolen base because--although nobody covered second base--Votto was holding the runner at first, and Cabrera bluffed a throw in order to try to bait the runner at third into going (it didn't work).

One is his name, the other isn't.

His mom calls him Cruz. Teammates call him Bigfoot. Most baseball fans know him as Mike Stanton, precocious slugger for the Miami Marlins, but his first name is actually Giancarlo. "The man of a million names," Stanton said. He likes them all, but with spring training cranking up and Stanton touted as a future home-run champion, he said Wednesday he prefers Giancarlo. For the first time, that's the way he's identified on the Marlins' roster. That's also the name on his paycheck and above his locker. That's what team owner Jeffrey Loria calls him. But Stanton's dad calls him Mike, and many of his relatives call him Mikey. "I respond to many names," he said. "It's all good."

Baseball-reference has his name listed as Giancarlo Cruz-Michael Stanton.

It is confusing.
