Chris Hammond looked more impressive and he was one of the most disappointing prospects that I can remember.

No matter. This offense is trying either too hard or cannot be made to bother when they know the likely outcome because of the bullpen.

If nothing else, the Reds in 1982-83-84 wound up with the #2, #5, and #4 overall picks in the next years' draft. Those picks were Kurt Stillwell, who became Danny Jackson, Pat Pacillo who became Jeff Reed and Herm Winningham, and Barry Larkin who is in the HoF. Jackson, Reed, Winningham, and Larkin were all key players on the 1990 World Series team. All goes according to plan, the Reds should win the WS in 2023.

I agree Redszone got carried away with Lamb, but there was reason to think that based on his minor league numbers that the HR/9 was a bit fluky and would come down. Obviously when it hasn't and the K/9 has plummeted and the BB/9 increased, he's a bit of a trainwreck.

There was reason for optimism in his 10 starts last year. At the moment though he's cannon fodder.

I think the best thing long term for Lamb is to try to convert him to a reliever. I think eventually he could become a decent situational lefty reliever. I just don't see him being a long term part of this rotation once the injured starters finally start to come back

When Lamb's velocity is all the way back, they should try him as a high K reliever.

He might be able to get by on missing bats for an inning or two at a time.

I'll probably be dead by then.

It's only the 6th, a 2 run game, and the Brewers pen is almost as bad as the Reds. This one ain't over.

I can take Chris though. These guys do ramble on but they are not beating the same subject to death or blowing smoke up my behind like George does.

It must be me, that's ok--I can take Jim or Cowboy.

I was watching the Yankees/ Jays on the YES network, and was nice those guys just letting the game breathe, and the Yankees were getting whooped.

Why is that surprising? We know he can hit AAA pitching and we're playing the Reds.

He's probably somewhere in between. A large part of it is his high BABIP crashing back down, though now it's swung in the opposite direction and is too low not to have some luck involved. The strikeouts are a real concern but I think it's a bit of anomaly, he's never been this whiff prone before.

I personally think the Reds should take advantage of his options and send him to Louisville for a stint to clear his head.

You kidding! After the way Ca-Coth pitched tonight I'd make him the closer.

One of the toughest jobs in sports media has to be asking questions in a baseball locker room after a streak like this. That was soooooooo uncomfortable just watching on TV.

Have you ever noticed that when the team is going well, it is 'we' this and 'we' that, but when they are in a losing streak it is 'the Reds' this or 'the Reds' that? Nobody uses the first person when the team stinks.
