no problem with the holiday... just think a sport game shouldn´t have anything to do with it. Athletes in military uniforms don´t help to reduce injured and killed soldiers (reducing the number of stupid wars would do it though...)

I´m no fan of those thinks because they often lead to more patriotism/nationalism, something that lead to more injured and dead soldiers within your country and other countries... but that is part of the politic forum => back to topic

So you can imply Memorial Day festivities at the ballpark somehow lead to more deaths of soldiers, and you just expect it to slide by with a "this is actually for the politics forum".

obviously a single day of military uniforms won´t have that big of an affect.. but the sum of those things I witnessed in my us vacation and via media is (imo) way to much... why do you have to sing the anthem before to sport teams play eachother? same thing with god bless america? why showing us flags every time you can (some of them being paid by the government)? why showing soldiers over and over again during sport games...

no, the only anthems they sing is the "anthem" of the home team... like Stern des Südens in munich or Liverpools You´ll never walk alone...

only time they sing the national anthem is before national teams play eachother (which makes atleast some sense) and before the german cup final but that´s it...

Ohlendorf's ERA is finally getting closer to where it should be given his FIP and K/BB ratio. You can all start apologizing to me soon for your Ross O bashing. ;)

Not a fan of the pants up to the knees or down to the ankles. I am old so i like the BRM look on the pants. To me that is how they should always be worn.

Who feels safe with a 5 run lead with 2 innings left in Coors?

As safe as a hippie at a DK concert in the middle of 1980.

I'm reminded of that time Chapman couldn't get any outs in Colorado. Can't remember if that was the same one where Hoover gave up the walkoff HR to Drew Stubbs.

I think what upsets me most is he was allowed to allow three runs before anyone made a move to talk to him. I know. Who cares, but it seems crazy to me.

Every time Cingrani looks like he has adapted to the reliever role, an outing like this comes along. Sometimes I think he needs more rest. Other times I think he needs more work.

If he doesn't improve, eventually he'll just lose his job to better guys. Too bad, but he has had his chances.

I remember thinking in like 2013 that our rotation around now would end up looking something like...

Latos
Stephenson
Cingrani
What's his name who was supposed to be the next Jonny Cueto but instead ended up sucking and got released
Maybe Guillon I can't remember who'd be 5th

More like a major league pitcher with his stuff should pitch better than that?Yeah, but to let him get hit like that--time after time, I thought someone, the pitching coach maybe, should go out and say something in the 15 seconds or so, but it never happened. Luckily, Price removed him before it got any worse. I'll be the first to say that I do not understand Tony Cingrani's struggles.

Man, I've seen managers and pitching coaches go out to 1) stall until another pitcher gets ready, 2) slow them down and make suggestions, or 3) take them out of a game, so if that' not good enough an answer, I'm sorry,

Yeah, but in Cingrani's case I'm not sure his role matters. Frankly, I just think he never fully recovered from injury, never got his top stuff back.

Cingrani in 2013 was such an effective pitcher. I thought he was just sensational back then.
