From Rotoworld w/ Rotoworld comments:

The 76ers and Hawks are reportedly discussing a potential deal involving Nerlens Noel and Jeff Teague.

Oh my. The 76ers clearly need to do something with the logjam in their frontcourt, and apparently they'd prefer to stick with Jahlil Okafor and Joel Embiid over Noel. There are sure to be more pieces involved in this deal should it come to fruition, but Teague would see a nice uptick in value as one of the main guys in Philly, as would Okafor. This would also likely install Dennis Schroder as the new starting point guard in Atlanta, which would obviously give him a substantial boost in fantasy value. Al Horford is going to be an unrestricted free agent, and Atlanta dealing for Noel could imply that Horford is on his way out.

The Teague trade ideas have been rampant with a 3-team deal most often being discussed.

Horford joining a new team has also been a common idea, while a full rebuild in Atlanta has also been on the table for two years now.

Noel would be a decent starting piece, while Schroeder seems destined to start.

From Rotoworld with Rotoworld comments:

The Celtics may look to select Croatian center Ante Zizic with their late first-round selection on draft day.

Zizic, a 19-year-old center who has been playing professionally in Europe since the age of 16, is currently projected to go in the 20-30 range on draft day, so Boston may look to take him when they come on the board with their No. 23 overall selection. Zizic possesses solid size at 6'11 with a 7'3 wingspan, and he's a very physical player with a high motor, although he's still very raw on the offensive end and may be a draft-and-stash kind of guy.

It'd be a wise use of one of their 1st round picks, as it basically gives them a 16th roster spot, giving them control (1st's do, but 2nd's do not) of him if they can talk him into staying in Europe and continue to develop there.

From Rotoworld w/ Rotoworld comments:

The 76ers are shopping Nerlens Noel and Jahlil Okafor to "at least 15 teams" for a trade, according to Keith Pompey of the Philadelphia Inquirer.

According to a previous report from Shams Charania of Yahoo!, the 76ers are working on a deal to send Noel to Atlanta for Jeff Teague. Noel likely has more value to a contending team and he would almost certainly start wherever he goes. He did improve on the offensive end for his pick-and-roll plays while he was playing out of position.

This will take at least a couple of weeks for Philadelphia to sort through the offers, counter-offers, and counter-counter offers.

As a longtime Celtics fan this gives me bad memories of those guys BOS tried to do the same thing with back in the 90s. I think one of them was Stojko Vrankovic and the other was Dino Radja. It didn't work out well.

This is a little different, as they have more resources than they have roster spots for in 2016-17. Olshey will be seeing if he can pick up a quality "potential" from some team that feels they would rather have a new draftee instead of a 2nd/3rd year player who hasn't performed as hoped. Boston is loaded with talent that simply hasn't had the minutes to develop at a fast enough pace. Not going to get the best of Ainge, but Ainge is always ready to deal if it makes sense. Can't keep everyone and use every 2016 pick. Moves must be made.

Or merge the NBA Draft thread with this one, as the talk will certainly go hand-in-hand.

Note to Bryan Colangelo:

You are NOT Doug Collins.

Jeff Teague is a year away from unrestricted free agency; YOU are in the catbird's seat here, not the Hawks.

Dealing Noel or, for that matter, Okafor - which is risky, to say the least, as you'd likely be trading away a young D. Cousins - must return long-term assets, not rentals. If you MUST deal with Atlanta, Noel for Schroder or no deal.

Man, the M.L Carr era was awful. I'd forgotten about Radja's matador defense, but fondly (not!) recall passing up Eddie Jones to draft Eric Montross. But at least Antoine Walker was a great pick.

This....Even if the Celtics don't trade away some of their picks in this draft, which I expect them to do, as they are also in win-now mode. Prime time for Olshey to grab a late first or second rounder or two. Plus, you can be sure that Celtics will also be active in free agency.

In this draft, IMO, there isn't much difference in talent from the late twenties and the late second round.

Fun fact: Philly's second rounder goes to Boston this year, but would have conveyed via subsequent trade with Miami last year as a first rounder if the 76ers would have made the playoffs last year. The player/draftee that Doug Collins traded for? Arnett Moultre.
