Just because a player is out on the basepaths doesn't automatically make it a TOOTBLAN. Barnhart attempted to advance on a wild throw from the shortstop that sailed wide of first base. If it doesn't take a perfect bounce to Ramos, he's on second base standing up.

So I'm going to be spending the next three months (at least) living in KC and working in St Joesph, MO.

At least it isn't Cardinals country

Apparently there are Cincinnatis in Indiana, Missouri, Iowa, and Arkansas. Who knew? All of them, no doubt, large enough to have a zoo and MLB team.

I've been to Cincinnati, Iowa. A blight in the middle of pretty farm country. Former coal town and it looks it. Population less than an hour's worth of visitors on a rainy day at the Cincy Zoo

Votto OPS alert: up to .771, several points below Edwin Encarnacion, Chris Davis, and Buster Posey, same as Giancarlo Stanton, a few points higher than Andrew McCutchen and Freddie Freeman.

I'd love to see Bruce stay in a Reds uniform his whole career.
Nobody took as much undeserved crap as Jay Bruce and Adam Dunn in my humble opinion.

You can add Frank Robinson to the list with Bruce and Dunn.
I was 11 years old when Robinson was traded. It broke my heart.

Robby's career was epic, in 67 he took a knee in the head that some say accelerated his demise, Aaron and Mays came in the league before Robby but he fell off a little sooner, some say it was the concussion

I came to age as a Tiger fan, they never traded anyone, and they had a core of ten guys who played in the same season as each other 10 years in a row.

But break my heart?

Pete Rose winter of 1978, the rhetoric, the messed up reality of FA in a new world

Brutal introduction to the free market for this guy

I was pretty optimistic that guys like Straily and Duvall could be solid producers in a rebuilding year. I didn't think in early June they'd have a 3.34 ERA and 16 HRs, respectively. Even if they regress (and I expect they will), they'll still likely out perform my best guesses.

Dewitt was s Rickey man, he also a was old school owner with a small margin for error. Add in the civil rights movement + DeWitts background as a shoe string owner and Robby's issues in a town that is on the border of the South., Gun, vocal etc... And you get what happened

A decision that was based on incorrect data in some cases and assumptions + Reds lack of something (Pitching)

In short

Fail

He is in the prime as a power hitter. I don't know about his control, but if Reds control him till his age 31 season, he can be one of the best bats that can be traded on the market, if I was a team that needed an OF I would actively go after Duvall harder then Bruce. His walks will go up with more time.

Honestly he doesn't deserve to go to the pen in the next few weeks. Walt is about to get a chance to earn his last few paychecks as he deals arms for bats.

I know, was more of a thinking while typing (How much control do we have on him?). I did misread a little bit, missed the sarcasm I am so bad at that. But I don't think anyone can be as bad in walks as Duvall is now.

Anorth enjoyable game to watch. Straily pitched a nice game and deserved the win. The least deserving pitcher got the win. Go figure. Duvall is turning into a very nice player. He's a player who may benefit by changing teams. He would never hit for power in SF but in Cincy he could flourish and have a nice career. Still early for him but so far so good.
