Talking draft, I think the odds on favorite to reach the majors first is Logan Shore, the Friday night starter at the University of Florida. But he'll be selected in the teens because he's very much like Leake in that the stuff is there to get major league hitters out but it isn't likely to get much better than it is now.

Early results are positive. Let's see how he is the 2nd and 3rd times through the lineup.

This is why I also thought Lamb would be a terrific reliever. The ability to have two innings like that.

Last year, as a starter, he would get bogged down in the middle of the game. Maybe he's beyond that, we'll see.

Adams ALWAYS beats the shift.

Hopefully this means he's fully healthy now. He's gone from 10.5 K/9 last year to 4.7 K/9 this year. 10.5 is unrealistic, but he'll see his strikeouts rise and could be an effective starter if he can maintain 91 - 93

I'm not counting any chickens, I tend to agree he profiles as a reliever. But the velocity tonight is very encouraging. When he can throw a 93 mph fastball to go with his breaking stuff instead of 89, it makes a difference.

Interesting at bat by Duvall. Didn't jump on the first pitch. Took a couple of pitches. But didn't delay very much, jumping on the third pitch for a nice single up the middle.

Something about Duvall I like. Just get the feeling he knows what he's doing up there.

I'm not understanding why he's still pitching. Even going out for the 8th, it should have been with the edict that he wasn't going to pitch from the stretch.

I still like Leake. Underrated imo, even if "average", he was consistently solid and always good for 200 IP, which in itself is underrated.

On the bright side, 32 pitches for Broxton in Game 1 off the series is a good thing.
