I saw that Hamilton was on concussion protocol. Apprently was banged up last night somehow.

That is a shame. Billy has been on a tear recently. He is hitting .417 this month so far

I'd guess it was on that diving catch. He seemed to hurt something then. Catch was fairly early in the game, since I didn't stick around for the late part.

I kind of wish we could merge this and the draft thread. And that I had picture-in-picture.

Bryan Price said on the pregame radio show that Billy hit his head on the Third Baseman's knee when he was out stealing 3B last night.

Man, Jim Day must have pissed someone off to get booted back to the field from the booth before the series even ended.

All eyes on the draft, and Redszone slowing down, but Finnegan had a 1-2-3 first with 2 Ks which was nice to see.

Votto walks.

Nah, he's the fourth-string QB.

THom is the regular QB (out indefinitely, throat surgery)
Kelch is the backup QB, but he's filling in for Marty on radio.
George is the #3 QB, but evidently was unavailable for the first two games, so Jim Day got the call.

Damn, Finnegan with another strikeout to start the 2nd but a Molina double and perfect placed bloop single by Moss who went out and got it drives in a run.

2-1 game

Man, Bruce still has a strong arm, but he's been making wildly inaccurate throws this year.

I think it's getting better now because of a lot of people doing this lol.

Finnegan's stuff looking good tonight but he's had to throw a lot of pitches as the Cardinals are elite batsmen, fouling pitches off and running counts full. Suarez still isn't looking like a third baseman yet.

George Grande pushing his pro-dog agenda.

Finnegan looks great so far. 4 innings, 2 hits, 0 walks, 5 strikeouts, 1 run.

Tom Servo

Wainwright is rolling. Every time I think this guy is on the decline he starts pitching like it's 2009 again.

Tom Servo
06-09-2016, 08:43 PM
Of course. Walk to Carpenter, BS balk call, and a base hit by Diaz to the OF ties it up with one out in the 6th.

2-2 game.

androosh

That balk call was horrible. The home plate ump should never make that call - it's on the first base ump. Way to give the Cardinals a run.

Tom Servo

Good work from Finnegan at 96 pitches. 6 innings, 3 hits, 1 walk, 7 strikeouts, 2 runs. Really nice to see him throw a game with a good K:BB ratio.

Tom Servo
06-09-2016, 08:58 PM
Finnegan back out for the 7th after 96 pitches. I don't think it's going to end well. "But the boy has gotta learn!" bellows Bryan Price.

Not a chance I take Finnegan out of the rotation at this point unless he has like 3 godawful starts in a row. This dude has got something.

06-09-2016, 09:01 PM
Leave him to allow five runs, Bryan.

Tom Servo
06-09-2016, 09:01 PM
Single up the middle for Molina, bunt single against the shift by Brandon Moss. 2 on, no out to start the 7th.

Regardless of what happens here with Price leaving him in too long, Finnegan pitched a great game. Great command tonight.

Am I mistaken, or do they not even have anybody warming up yet?

Edit: nevermind, as soon as I pressed submit, they said Wood is warming up.

Nice recovery by Cozart to get an out.

Tom Servo
06-09-2016, 09:05 PM
Grichuk hits it hard but a long out. 2 out now with 2 on.

Jhonny Peralta pinch hitting against Finnegan at 110 pitches. I'm watching with my hands over my eyes.

Am i mistaken or is that the first time in 3 years when Bryan's decision re pitcher worked?

Finny gets out of it! Peralta flies out to center!

Great start.

lol pretty sure it is, and of course the one time it does it's in a tie situation as opposed to the several dozen he's gotten wrong that put made it a tie or put the Reds behind.

Leadoff double by Carpenter off Ohlendorf in the 8th, of course.

Between Lamb and Finnegan, I don't know if I want either in the pen, but one of them will be there sooner than later.

Holy crap, the Reds could be good again, real quick. :beerme:

And this year is a wash, so any excessive losing gets us another exciting draft pick next year, where the Reds might even be able to pretty decent. Go on with your bad self, Ohlendorf.

Ohlendorf allows a run but it could have been much, much worse with bases loaded, no outs for STL.

3-2 whiny birds to the bottom of 8

Is FS1 trying to put together the most unlikable, troll status sports show ever with Cowherd and Whitlock? Because that commercial alone makes me want to vomit. Congrats FS.

At least keep Katie Nolan on and you're golden in my book.

I am encouraged by this series. The Cardinals have owned us for years, but we played them tough with an inferior team and if not for the horrible bullpen, might have swept them.
