First career start for Waldrop. I guess Duvall was just worn out from all those HR's and doubles lately.

Holy crap. Just looked at Bruce's Fangraphs page for the first time in a while. Had no clue his UZR is THAT low.

Unrealistically low. He's on pace to be the worst OF in history judged by UZR. Which is obviously not true. Bruce is fine out there.

Yeah, I can believe he's now below average. Can't believe he's historically bad. He's not Cardinals era Lance Berkman out there.

It really calls into question the value and usefulness of UZR and by proxy, WAR.

Bruce isn't very good out there, but he's not what UZR says he is.

Bad thing is I didn't ask which team he was with.

RedlegJake

Bruce is a flyball type of power hitter - GABP plays well with his game. Deeper parks on the road hurt his power numbers. Joey is a line drive hitter - the alleys are bigger in parks on the road. GABP doesn't suppress him so much as it cuts down some gappers he'd get on the road. Just my theory.

Probably right. Bruce has 40 more HR's at GABP in 32 fewer AB's.

Votto is better on the road across the board, with the exception of he's drawn more walks at home.

Blake Wood has likely been the Reds best relief pitcher this year.

At least he has the stuff to get out good major league hitters when he has a certain amount of command.

And in his last 10 games covering 14 innings, he has a 18/6 K/W ratio, giving up 2 runs over that span.

With a 21/11 GB/FB ratio.

Wood has been pitching well lately, and considering the Reds relief corps, he should certainly be getting the ball in close situations.
