Umm ... shouldn't Peraza be the DH, not Brandon?

Peraza might be good defensively. He's not as good as BP, that's for sure.

Course, this could be a way of giving BP a semi "night off." Have to keep him fresh for that pennant race, y'all.

Or just getting Peraza MLB reps at 2B. That actually makes sense during a season like this.

Brandon Phillips DH. Has that ever happened before?

Last year I thought Lamb gave up too many fly balls and had high pitch counts. The latter caused him to encounter trouble going deep in games.

Let's see if he can "pitch to contact" a bit more in the next few innings and have a quick inning or two.

Not a great play, but an above-average play by the 1B, who was backing up the wild throw and made a strong and accurate throw across the diamond to third base.

Tony Cloninger
06-17-2016, 09:27 PM
As nice as his breaking ball is.......it is not like he throws it consistent for strikes...so the pitch count rises because you can see it coming and lay off it.

In regards to the aggressive base running...... This is again something Price preached from Day 1 when he became a manager. This is not close to the BRM that can afford to run into outs as much as it does.

OK! Jose can run a little bit!

I loved the running game from the 70's and 80's. If Hamilton and Peraza can get on base at a good enough clip, and they can add a couple of other players with above average speed, like Holt, they could play a pretty exciting brand of baseball.

No, I missed the first pitch of this inning, that was the 2nd pitch.

That 15 pitch AB really blew up Lamb's pitch count.

Players have celebrated more than people think....even in the 70's and 80's..... No one really begrudges celebrating that is not forced or planned. Gomez and Joey Bats take it to a level that no one who wants this sport to turn into Football...where they celebrate the most mundane plays, every play.

Gomez and Bautista are D Bags when it comes to celebrating. People who do not like the old school theme of baseball use those 2 to show how old and boring baseball can be while they used to castigate Mark Gastineau and then Terrell Owens for their celebrating.

As someone who would know, how bad do most shows that are set in NYC mis-portray the actual experience?

Was always curious about that as some of my faves (Friends, Seinfeld, How I Met Your Mother, etc.) were set there.
Mostly the idea that any of these people who don't work in finance could live in such nice apartments is the most inaccurate thing, with Friends being the worst offender.

Seinfeld did the best of capturing the general minutia/absurdity. HIMYM was pretty good at observing an outsider's perspective. I think Friends could have been set anywhere. Of course, they all did this from sound stages in LA, but c'est la vie.

Having some experience with programming, I'd venture to guess there's an issue with the database interface. You can "lock" and "unlock" the database when writing to it, and if you don't explicitly do that then you can get two different posts writing to the database at the same time and that will cause it to be slow.

I'm an equal opportunity detractor of his, but Hoover did get better in his last several outings in Louisville, 11 strikeouts to 2 walks in 10 innings.

I also grew up when the Phillies were maroon, but do have prior history was a red team, as their current uniforms are very similar to their unis from the 50's.

I thought the Angels were red, not maroon, but they used it as a secondary trim color. Their primary color was navy.

I'm OK with the Nat's using red, as their caps are borrowed from the Senators.
