Nasty slider to strike out Correa.

One problem with Reed so far is that it's basically all fastball/slider.

And as I was about to hit send on that, it looked like it was a changeup that Correa grounded into a tailor made double play.

Seems like in that park, if you hit it deep from left-center to right-center, your first instinct should be triple where in most parks it would be a double.

As for those fans I'd rather have Reed-Finnegan and Lamb, right now, than Cueto. But casual fans are really stupid, baseball wise, so it doesn't surprise me at all. Still, I talk to a guy who works for the Royals as an administrative assistant and we discussed the issue of fans. The FO people love casual fans - it's the guys who have some knowledge, like Redzoners (and most sportswriters) that really irk them - you know, the old "a little knowledge is a dangerous thing" concept.

Mine turned white early but is tenacious and still present for duty at age 65. I don't know why these guys earning big bucks don't get hair transplant. Isn't that like $50K? I'd do it in a heartbeat. Be at docs Last day of season and be rockin' 6 months later.

I just googled it. High end was $15K. These guys lose that much in their sofa I'd do transplant surgery in a second. I've read a lot about it.

Trouble is I don't have the 15k just laying around.

Brandon Finnegan birthday: 4/14/93

You say that in jest, but I do actually remember where I was during the slow white Bronco chase, and it's related to the Reds. I had driven with a friend from Tallahassee to ATL to watch the Reds vs. the Braves that weekend. Friend's friend's place had the chase on. Later we went to the game and saw the Reds beat Glavine 16-0 and the next day Smoltz 12-4.

As long as the pitch count is OK, pushing him is fine. That's how Aces become aces. He went through the line-up 3 times with a pitch count in order. Early jitters made his line look worse than it should have. It's hard to read too much into outings the first couple of times around the league, but I thought he did a great job. Another 295 innings or so and we'll have better idea what we have.

I mean, I totally think he has declined. I wouldn't even argue with the metrics too much, they are what they are, which is a decent but flawed guideline into measuring value. What gets me is the stuff about 'Well, clearly he's the worst outfielder there is and no other team would possibly want him because of his defense', as though teams don't have Matt Holliday and Matt Kemp out there as trainwrecks in the outfield. Holliday hasn't had a passable season on defense since 2009 and it's killed his yearly WAR total, but you can bet 29 other teams would take that bat in LF. Bruce, at worst, is below average in the field, he's not a trainwreck.
