I think Peraza beat the tag he's called out on, but he might not have stayed on the base. Reds not challenging.

As the Reds begin to sift through starting pitchers, with Lamb going to AAA, these outings by Straily are important.

I was unsure at first, but I like the guy. He isn't TOR material, but he knows how to pitch.

Kudos to those who were so happy when the Reds picked him up. Hope he makes good and lands a role in the rotation or as a principal reliever.

Peraza may have had a better chance to turn the DP if he had taken the ball to 2nd himself instead of flipping it to Zack.

Majority of Reds fans on Twitter are angry at Votto for not swinging at 2 balls instead of the ump for calling 2 balls strikes. Unsurprising, they're just following the broadcast team's lead.

It was a bit strange as it was so close to 2nd. I was rooting for a slightly harder toss but also we can't forget that the SB leader was the hitter and batting left-handed. I've seen Phillips not turn it with full quickness and this same thing happen by the hustling and speedy runner.

I still feel Brantley knows twice as much about pitching as any person currently in the Reds dugout or bullpen. I feel his vast knowledge is being wasted on us.

Maybe they have just been conditioned by years of listening to Marty.

In the majorities defense....those of us who ended our days in little league, babe ruth, high school or legion ball know to protect and were taught to protect once you get to two strikes. As one of those people I do understand that Votto has an elite HOF eye at the plate on if it is a ball or a strike and likely better than many professional umpires. Part of sports is knowing/adapting to human umpires. The k zone I saw had that pitch with no gap showing between the edge of the ball and the edge of the zone. I believe it was a ball, but have also seen that pitch called a strike maybe 500-600 times just this season in Reds games.

I'm not blaming him, nor am I upset with him....but I do understand those that wished he would've swung on 3-2....I don't agree with anyone who wanted him to swing at the 3-1 pitch though.

I'm far more upset with Bruce and his lack of triples today

Two outs, LH pitcher in, Votto up and Billy on 1st.

I want Votto to be aggressive on any hittable fastball he likes early...Billy steal if Votto gets into an off speed count (0-1, 1-1, 1-2, 0-2).....then Joey do his thing for contact and win it.

I'm late to the party, but was anyone else listening to the radio broadcast? Tom Browning is the softest-spoken color man I have ever heard. He went through entire innings without uttering a word, it seemed. He didn't do any play-by-play, Kelch did every inning of that. Browning probably has some colorful stories to tell from his playing days, and Kelch tried to get him to elaborate on riding a horse into White Castle, but after mentioning the incident, he merely said "that's all I can say". I like Browning and feel for him, but announcing does not seem to be his calling.

I agree. Only heard an inning or 2 but he didn't say much. I would assume, based on what I heard, he has failed his audition.
