I like the concept. The execution left a lot to be desired. Namely the amount of black in the logo/accents, the block lettering style they used etc.

If they had nixed the black and had used a "classier" less Comic Sansy style lettering, they could've been great.

Also, it seems like the current uni's are still "new" in my mind, but they've been using them for 10 years now....one of the longer durations for Reds uni's in modern times. They're sort of overdue for a overhaul, no?

The pinstripes were red and the socks and the white hats with red bill. Classic. The BRM uniforms are liked by many, but they were so bland. When they back the vests with red pinstripes and the wishbone C even with the black, I was elated. When they moved to the current uniforms, which I consider the most boring in MLB--especially the so-called "riverboat lettering"--I weeped a little. How boring is that? Typical Midwestern boring. Let's go back to the vest with strong red sleeves and lots of Red.

I hate, HATE, the oval non-wishbone C. And I didn't like the pinstripes on the 1993 or 1999 models because from a distance it makes the uniform look pink. I also did not like all the black trim and drop shadows on the 1999 model. I did like the white caps from 1993, but they also would have been better without pinstripes. (I guess I'm just anti-pinstripe.)

If I were redesigning the Reds uniforms, I would go back to the 1970 model for both home whites and road grays, which is basically a buttonup version of the BRM uniforms. The font of the letters and especially the numbers must be the classic block from the 70's. All red cap for both home and away, and pants and socks must be worn properly to add color. (I would consider white trim around the letters and numbers on the gray uniform, similar to the 1990 uniform, so that the numbers "pop", but I would want to see how it looks before signing off on it.)

I like the red alternate jersey so I would keep it, though it would be worn as an alternate for both home and away. I would keep it exactly as is, including the white "neck spoon" stripe, except the number and letter font would be the BRM-style block letters and numbers.

Something new I would have is Sunday uniforms. The Sunday home uniform would be inspired by the sleeveless uniforms from the late 50's. White sleeveless jerseys (no pinstripes) with 50's-style number on the left breast, and either a plain wishbone C (not the "C-REDS" logo) or a Mr. Redlegs head on the right. No names on back. The pants would be white with a single narrow red stripe down he sides. White cap with red bill and red wishbone C.

The Sunday away uniform would be inspired by the sleeveless road uniforms from the early 60's, with some minor variations. Gray sleeveless jersey with "CINCINNATI" in red arched block letters and 60's block numbers. No names on back. Gray pants have a single narrow red stripe on the side. Gray caps with red bill and red wishbone C.
