Going to be surprised if they win this game. Good news tomorrow they face Leake who they'll knock around and I'll be there with my 5 consecutive wins streak.

If Reed is pressing, then maybe a few weeks in the pen would help. Start off with mop up.

Thing is, he was dominating AAA, I'm not sure what benefit AAA would provide. Except for those who can't stand watching these outings on TV.

I'd switch him with Keyvius and give Cody some low leverage innings.

It's not even so much calling him up, it was early but not incredibly early (I had him pegged as maybe being ready late July/early August), it's the refusing to send him down that gets my goat.

He had just started to run into adversity in AAA, I really don't know why they decided right at that point he was ready to be up for good. The back to back starts against the Cubs showed he just wasn't ready yet, but here we keep drudging forward.

On the plus side, Reds fans who don't follow the minor leagues hate him now, so we got that going for us.

Bruh, he WAS, but not when they called him up. 2.21 ERA in his first 7 starts, that's really good. But a 4.88 in his last 4 AAA starts before the callup as he allowed more than a hit per inning and was even touched up for grand slam in consecutive starts.

You can't always time these things to perfection. Everybody doesn't come up at the absolute peak of his performance. You don't wait for a shutout performance and say, now!

And even if you do, it can go backwards.

The Reds felt he was ready and while he has pitched poorly I wouldn't give up on it so soon.

Reed's going to give up a bomb but damnit he's going to learn a lesson.

Double play ends the inning, but like Finnegan recently before him, young Cody fails to rise above the Jon Moscot ratio. 1 strikeout, 1 HR. Not good.

2 outs with a runner on third. Down by three runs. And your best hitter tries to walk, then gets 2 strikes and chokes up 4 inches so he can weakly ground out. I miss the baseball of my youth.
