Tony Cloninger
08-06-2016, 07:16 PM
He has hard moving stuff that you just have to learn to lay off.....which hitters in the AL did because he basically throws more balls than strikes.

Scouting report, as always does not arrive fast enough in the mail for the Reds.

Ironman92
08-06-2016, 07:17 PM
Checked Nova's splits....this year he's decidedly better vs righty batters but over his career his OPS vs RH is .776 and .777 vs LH, exact same batting average and only a difference of 2 in total bases. Couldn't be more even

Homer was squeezed against Joyce... After the 1-1 count, a nice inside breaking ball that caught the plate was called a ball, and the next pitch went right over the plate as well, but called a ball due to Barnhart getting crossed up. Should have been strike 3.

I don't have a huge problem with it, but Price should have a quick hook here. I think they just want Homer to get a little more work in, but I agree that the duress of the third should be factored in. 100 pitches would probably feel more like 115.

I'm a little concerned about his arm out there, though.

Arm isn't strong but if he can keep running everything down and robbing HR and such....arm hasn't cost anything yet but he's saved multiple runs.

For this season at least...Duvall is great in LF, looked confused in RF. I keep Schebler in RF despite the sub par arm

I agree. Switching Duvall from LF to RF sounds good on paper and in video games, but in real life it's not always that easy. He may be able to handle it if he works on it during the offseason or next spring, but for now Duvall in LF and Schebler in RF is the best alignment.
