That said, Godley is AAA fodder. He should have been helping his catcher find that ball on the wild pitch.
Also I already miss Peraza at SS.

I remember Joe Garagiola once said (paraphrasing), "Most major-league baseball players were the best player in their town growing up. I wasn't even the best catcher on my block."
(Garagiola grew up in the same neighborhood in St. Louis with Yogi Berra.)

My all-time favorite Joe Garagiolo line was about Sean Casey:
"He runs like he has suction cups on his feet."

On vacation in South Florida so I went to the Marlins game tonight. They lost 1-0.
Of course THIS was the game I miss. Great effort all around. Not a bad night for a 'Quad A player' like Schebler (because no player ever improves after their first 100-something plate appearances).

I think Shebby could become near Duvall level of HR's and slugging w/ better wheels and overall defense. I've not been distracted by his early nerves which were otherworldly apparent. He's relaxing now and actually going w/ some pitches instead of stepping in the bucket pulling everything. That oppo HR he hit tonight was a process thing of beauty. I could almost hear a certain JV's coaching session in the cage w/ Shebby nodding and looking at his shoes..

This is a great point that is often missed by us.
100 less stressful pitches over 8 innings is probably less than 80 stressful pitches over 4 innings.

Disco threw 108 pitches last night in a complete-game four-hit shutout. That means he averaged only 12 pitches per inning. That's great efficiency.

At least there is one shining light in the rotation. Disco has been awfully good since coming back from his injury. It looks like he will have to be the anchor of this staff next season.
