No one said bench him but Peraza is clearly showing he can play and should be able to procure 1 start a week at 2B and SS.

I realize we are not rebuilding though and really just going through a down faze of course. (Did I say we? I meant They)

Marty going OFF on Cabrera and the front office for having him on the roster.

Cabrera was never intended to be the backup catcher for the Reds all season long. He was supposed to be the catcher at Louisville, and available as an emergency catcher for the Reds.

When it turns out that your $28M catcher is made of fine china, then you end up with AAA players like Cabrera as the backup catcher.

9 of his 17 earned runs have come in these last two starts where is mostly just throwing BP fastballs. The numbers really don't matter, it's that he feels healthy and can get to a place where the velocity is back consistently.

Bailey needs to be sat down. He just doesn't have his fast ball and until that returns there is no use in running him out there every 5th day. The other three relievers should be released on September 1. Bring up three from the minors and see what they can do. They certainly could not do worse.

Also the Reds should be embarrassed by the catching situation. They have minor league fodder now playing that position. No excuse for that. Another lack of really caring by this organization.
