I know there's not really a great alternative. But it annoys me Tyler Holt is still getting starts after the rosters have expanded.

http://www.wsj.com/articles/how-drugs-and-alcohol-fueled-the-1986-mets-1459795793

Understand, there was no party in the use of these drugs—that part happened off the field, away from the game. No, this was all business. This was the care and feeding of the professional athlete. The “jar” was like our traveling medicine cabinet, a way to chase the aches and pains. You’d walk into the clubhouse and catch one of your teammates sitting in front of his locker looking like he’d just been through a spin cycle. There’d be dark circles under his eyes. The simplest movements would be accompanied by the groans of an old, beaten-down man. It would be the middle of August—game 141 on the schedule, say—the dog days of the dog days, and this poor guy could barely stand and straighten his knees because of all the abrasions running up and down his legs. He’d be bruised from head to toe, from being plunked by a season’s worth of pitches. He’d have a couple of broken bones in his hands, but he was determined to play through his injuries, to see his way to the butt end of the schedule. Maybe he was playing for his next contract, scrambling to keep his job over some upstart rookie.

Suarez has a really solid arm at 3B. Good defense there from the Reds.

Yeah, but Reds current lineup is pretty flawed. Good pitching team like the Mets showing the holes.

Just saw Joey's defensive play on MLBN. That was good stuff.

Reds scouts:

Hey guise make sure you pitch Jose Reyes down and in, lefties rarely handle that pitch.

Yeah but wins and losses are past the point of mattering so whatevs, I'm focused on individual performances.

Mets crew calling it a farce for reviewing HBP that didn't look like it hit him. Then they call it a farce for making a pitching change. These guys are *******s.

Sorry to go off-topic, but both my second AND third wives were named Ducksnort. Back to baseball.

Of course, we know that you only marry women named "Ducksnort" so that you don't accidently call your current wife by another woman's name.

Quite a ball striker, Mr. Havoc.

the good news is that the guys that have been bad aren't going to be around when the team should be good again, so who cares?

Point taken. But I think we all care, or else we wouldn't be here discussing a Reds-Mets game at 4 o'clock on Sept. 7.

Maybe they'll eventually get us to a No. 1 draft pick, and all will be forgiven.

It's one play but his lack of action after his caught stealing stuck out at me. BP always tries to get away with something from the umps, even if it is obvious he is wrong. Somewhat out of character that he didn't even question the call.

I literally don't care if the Reds win or lose today. I care about individual performances. If Jumbo has a bad game it doesn't matter to me at all.

The last out he made and when he was thrown out at home just didn't give the best impression to me.

14 in a row to the stinking Mets. Get swept in your own ballpark. The New York media predicted a sweep because -------- Cincinnati and the boys did everything they could to oblige.
