Reds up 5-0 in the 2nd because it's not on tv and I can't watch.

Holt, Schebler, Duvall and Phillips doing it early on.

Finnegan mixing up a lot of pitches there- 95 MPH fastball, slider , change-up. Moving the ball around too.

Finnegan gave up a single and walked two (three overall on the day so far) in the 2nd but escaped with no runs allowed.

47 pitches through two. He probably shouldn't still be starting at this point, but we know how Bryan Price feels.

The 2016 Pirates with the bases loaded and nobody out are 3-16 (.187) with 7 strikeouts and a .425 OPS. In 21 plate appearances, only 12 runs have scored.

The Pirates, a "playoff contender", started Steven Brault, Drew Hutchison, and Ryan Vogelsong three games in a row..... That pretty much says it all.

Fourth walk by Finnegan to start the 3rd.

I'm usually one of the last to get on board in these innings pitched situations....but I'm in favor of Finnegan being shut down for the season.

Yep it's time to shut Finny down.

Tyler Holt has a double and a triple today. What a world.

Maybe a good day for Joey to get a day off. Now 0-3 and a GIDP when everyone else is hitting

Not wide enough, 5th walk to go with 5 strikeouts.

Finnegan through five shutout innings. Got out of at least two bases loaded situations with key strikeouts.

Not sure if he comes out now, probably ends at five or six innings, but he really showed me something today. Great poise and some terrific stuff in clutch situations.

Selsky batting for Finnegan, five innings total for him.

Unfortunately he also moved back into first place in walks allowed in all of baseball.

7 strikeouts and no HRs is good tho.

Agree....I wouldn't even start Straily anymore....no reason to extend Finnegan and Straily has had a surprisingly good seson and he looks worn out to me....maybe skip him every other time till this nightmare is iver

This fellow Diaz is a good looking prospect. Excited about seeing more of him next year.

On pace for 68-94.

Not only was I not able to watch on TV (since it wasn't televised), but I was also unable to listen on the radio, as the local radio affiliate preempted the game to broadcast NFL football instead.

Bust.

5th damn time since late June that he has made 4 outs in a game. I wonder if anyone has fewer. Betting no.

And next a sweep of the Cards might knock them out as well and clear the path for our buddy Jay Bruce to make a post season appearance. That would make for a successful season all things considered.

I don't want the Mets in the playoffs, either.
