Reds are losing

I had to work on a Saturday. What is Redszone's excuse for not even a single post acknowledging a double header until about 3 innings into the second game?

Shameful display.

I was going to start a thread around noon, when the rain delay was going on, but I'm lazy and hoped some one else would do it by the time the game actually started. By the time I got back to it, Disco Demolition day had already begun, so I blew it off.

Finnegan walks the pitcher to load the bases and is replaced after 83 pitches and just 2.1 innings. Glad Bryan Price got that even 30 number for Finnegan starts that he really wanted, really accomplished a lot.

I'm continuing my streak of never starting a game thread.

At least I don't think I've ever started one.

Reds pitching is falling apart late in the year. I can't believe I'm saying this for the first time in my life, but I hope the season ends soon to save the arms.

I really dislike the Pirates Sean Rodriguez.

Would never root against the old Redlegs. But back when Billy was playing and we were competitive, I was worried that they might use our decent play as a reason for extending Bryan. Don't have to worry about that anymore. Which is not to say they won't come up with some other dopey reason for extending him.

Back to back HR by Schebler and Cabrera. 6-2 Pirates in the 5th.

Selsky and Holt with singles following the HR. Dejesus now.

Was wondering when Scheb was going to flash the power again, hadn't gone deep since late August despite hitting well.

I will say this, and Tom should take note, that I'm thinking my initial assessment of the Frazier trade may have been incorrect. Peraza and Schebler are both looking like solid contributors for the near future.

Now the important question. Where are those bouncing smiley faces you usually post?

Dejesus hit into a DP. Smith hitting for himself.

Despite calling out Redszone for the shameful display, I am only partially watching this game after seeing the 4-0 score after the 1st.

Somebody please tell the Reds' TV announcers that Iglesias and Lorenzen are two guys and do not solve the bullpen issue by themselves.

Thank you.

The re-tooling may take just a little longer than first thought. The younger guys are all really scuffling recently. Hope they can find some guys over the winter that can pitch instead of throw.

Matt Magill makes his Reds debut, sporting the #60 previously worn by Brian Koelling and Tim Hummel, and most recently worn by the inimitable J.J. Hoover.

Finally the Chris Heisey trade pays off.

DeJesus is facing a pitcher with bases loaded and had thrown 7 consecutive balls. De Jesus then swings at the next 3 pitches (all balls) smh

Suarez with a 2-0 count and bases loaded to a guy who can't throw a strike swings crazy late at a high pitch....then just gets gassed 2 other times. Couldn't have been more late.

Iribarren in hindsight would've been a better choice to PH. Suarez looked drunj

Jumbo Diaz has now faced the Pirates 21 times in his career and has still yet to give up a run.

Matt Magill is pitching for the Reds? Shut the front door! Why?

This SP staff truly stinks. It's September and these bums can't get the ball over the plate or make it past the 3rd inning. Anybody who has hope for '17, well I'd like some of what they're smoking.
Maybe the 2018 draft pick will bring hope.
