Where is the other split squad playing today? Is this in Goodyear?

Tyler Holt is a decent end of the bench guy. The Reds should be aiming higher than end of the bench guys on the big league roster, especially ones who get 200+ PAs. He and De Jesus should be the first guys gone just to remove the temptation of keeping them around. There are dozens more just like them all over minor league free agency.

So get rid of them just to get rid of them? If there are dozens just like them, why change?

To make room for better players. The idea that there are many just like them simply means if the better players who could replace them don't work out, they can be easily replaced.

Thom a bit up in arms about Peralta...fair enough.

Serious question, is Gary Sanchez Rookie of the Year?

It's in right field, it's not really the 1B's play.

So why didn't Phillips throw the ball home on the first run of the game?

Wow...Votto's D leaves me speechless.

It was Schebler's fault even though he was 20 feet away.

Votto was there and should've caught it.

Yes...kinda crazy

It's really nobody's "fault", but Schebler should be charging in full bore yelling "I got it" instead of leaving Votto twisting around looking for it.

It's also on Schebler, who had a straight shot at the ball and held up. Votto has trouble with that play. A more experienced right fielder would have recognized that.

Looks like the Reds are pretty much waving the white flag with this lineup and the pitching. Probably.

That was a well-placed RBI triple by Jose Havoc.

We've seen it was Dusty and Price, it is beyond me why they insist on inserting a light hitting scrub batting second in the lineup.

Ho-hum, another fine outing by the Bryan Price led Reds. As usual, except for Votto, Phillips and Peraza the hitting is non-existent. The pitching is terrible and I wonder if we should really expect it to get much better over the next two years. As I contemplate the 2017 Reds I find one source of hope...:alcohol:

When I turned on the game and saw Smith I knew the Reds had waved the white flag. I just turned away and watched something else. No need in wasting my time on this.

Not for nothing, but the Reds are 17th out of 30 in OPS out of the 2nd spot (8th out of 15 in the NL)

One more chance for a .500 record. The end of this long and horrible season is in sight.

Their record on Tuesdays is actually pretty good.
