Sal Romano returns for his third inning of work. Billy Burns flied out to Duvall in LF. Mondesi struck out swinging. Romano gets redemption and K's Moustakas swinging this time around. Seven in a row retired by Romano.

Barnhart opens the bottom of the third inning with a single, and scores on a triple by Alcantara. I really hope he wins that utility role.

I guess no chance he goes back for a 4th inning. Really really getting interested in Romano now.

This time last year I thought Sal Romano was a future reliever. He proceeded to post a BB/9 of 1.96 in Pensacola with a K/9 around 8.3 and has followed that up with a strong spring training so far. Now we're seeing Josh Johnson comparisons. I'm as high on Sal as a starter as anyone in the organization now.

They're never losing again.

A little early to make such a statement. Now if they win tomorrow, that's another story. Then it will be time.

Started 0-4 and now 5-2 since, if it makes any difference. Votto and the rest of the starters almost absent. I don't understand the method of the Price, but maybe he has a plan--lots of theories, but the lack of work have a lot to do with is slow start most season I have no idea, but I wonder. And I'll be the fist to say that ST wins are fool's gold, but carry on.

They actually started 0-6 and have won 5 straight. And yes it's meaningless.

Just because Votto is only playing home games at this point doesn't mean he isn't working on his game.

I think with the WBC, a lot of the vet players won't be playing as much early to instead focus on staying about and work on individual aspects of their game. It's still basically a month until opening day, plenty of time for Votto and Cozart to get their work in and be ready for opening day.
