Revere steals second. Brantly forgets Cron is on 3rd and he scores on the throw. Pennington follows with a single. 2-0 Angels. Both runs are unearned.

This has been an ugly inning for the Reds. Jesse Winker made a nice throw home on a single, but it dribbles out in a collison.

Bust.

Don't think so. He was clever enough to commit an error, making all the runs unearned. Savvy veteran move.

Watching the Angels feed, their announcers made a few good points about Garrett.

Stuff seems good, may have been distracted by his own error putting a man on second.

It was really two errors, didn't field the ball cleanly, then a wide throw.

Also, they thought Garrett was too quick to home plate with men on. May have been rushing, too concerned about the runners.

Amir obviously has good stuff, may just need a bit more experience on the fine points.

Also impressed today by Dilson Herrera's at bat. I think he took six pitches and walked; maybe he swung one time, can't recall. But he was quite patient.

Angels announcer thought he should have swung at the 3-1 pitch, but he's obviously a patient hitter, seemed very comfortable up there waiting for his pitch.

Evan Mitchell, making a solid case for the Reds bullpen sooner than later, sets down the top of the Angels lineup in order in the 4th.

Evan Mitchell looks like a major leaguer today. Impressive outing.

This game is the major league Angels against (largely) the AAA Reds so not surprised by the score.

Austin Brice not looking quite ready for primetime so far in spring training.
