Reds (Feldman) at Giants and Reds (Finnegan) at Mariners. The Mariners game is on MLB-TV as I settle in to watch some spring ball.

Peraza flies lazily to CF and then Cozart double to RCF on first pitch. Votto taps weakly back to Pitcher. Suarez grounds to SS.

Dyson leads off with flukey opposite field double. He steals 3rd. On 3-2 pitch Finnegan throws a curve out of strike zone but batter unable to hold up and he K's. Next guy hits comebacker to left of pitcher's mound. Runner has to hold. 2 out.

Next guy grounds out to Cozart. Good job of stranding a runner.

Havoc isn't so fun when it's the other teams, Dyson with a bloop double and a stolen base

Nice work from Finnegan to keep Dyson from coming around.

Herrera gets 4 pitch walk to open 2nd. Winker triples. It was a hot shot down 1st base line on ground. First base man could not come up with it (he probably could/should of) and then the RF was a little shaky on it. But a triple it is, and it scores Herrera. Then Jennings hit SH to LF. 2-0. Turner K's swinging. Aquino then crushes ball for HR. Was way out.

Peraza flies out to CF.

3-0 Reds

Nice, Dilson walks and Winker laces a triple down the line to score him!

Aristides Aquino! No doubter! :jump:

Zunino hits a non-flukey double down the LF line. Next guy hits seeing eye grounder by SS. Runners on 1st and 3rd. Finnegan induces grounder to SS and Reds turn DP. Run scores.

Don't mind the double or the run, but a two-out four pitch walk by Finnegan, that I don't like.

JaxRed

After the walk Finnegan was a little sloppy and there was a steal, but a grounder to SS ends inning. 3-1 Reds

Cozart reaches out and lines a single to LCF. Votto lines to CF. Was apparently was nice catch but the Mariner's camera team is using a minor leaguer from A ball to man the cameras, so we didn't see it. Suarez flies to deep CF and Cozart advances to 2nd with 2 out. Herrera flies out to end inning on a ball the LF almost lost in sun.

3-1

Dyson hits soft liner to CF. Jennings almost makes nice diving catch but then loses it and Dyson has another double. Finnegan then throws a pickoff attempt to Jennings to see if he can catch that (he did). Dyson on 3rd. I suspect he scores this time.

My suspicion was right. Next guy lines a single to CF 3-2.

Mariners broadcast talking to Tim Bogar, who I think would be a better Reds manager than Price.

Finnegan not really fooling them today.

Stolen base followed by solid double to LCF. Tie game.

Video of Aquino's HR. Wow.

A strikeout followed by a walk and Finnegan is done for the day. He was at 63 pitches. Wooten comes in to pitch in Finnegan's wake and induces a ground ball DP to end inning.

Is it REALLY that hard for baseball announcers to read the name "Winker" and not add an L to it? It's really getting on my nerves at this point.

Winkler :) grounds sharply up the middle for a single. Jennings flies out to CF. Turner pops up in IF. Aquino grounds to 2b to end inning.

Winkler is better than Wanker.

Finnegan not really fooling them today.

Ditto Feldman. Put Blake Wood in with that group.

Blake Wood in to pitch. Gives up sharp grounder for single to first batter. On hit an run, ball is hit to SS, and Cozart has to go to knees to catch it and then can't get enough on it to get guy at first. 2 on no outs.

Wood then walks the bases loaded with no outs. This can't be good.

Next guys swings and misses at ball 4 and then crushes a liner to Winker and gets SF. 4-3 Mariners. Wood at 20 pitches already.

2 separate stolen bases and Wood is at 24 pitches.

Single scores 1 and it's 5-3. Wood VERY unimpressive.

Speak for yourself. The more pitchers in this game, the better. Seattle's got Pitch F/X. I want that data.

Another steal and and then a dribbler to third for a single makes it 6-3 , 1st and 3rd, 2 down. 30 pitches for Doug to track.

Flyout to end inning on 31st pitch.

Peraza caught looking to start the 5th. Cozart hits sharp grounder that 3b boots for error. Votto grounds into DP.

Will probably be my last inning of work. Gentlemen, it's been a privilege flying with you.

Another impressive inning from Evan Mitchell, it's hard to put too much into spring training but he's making a legitimate case for the Reds bullpen.

Out at the Giants game, Tyler Mahle continues to have a rough go of it this spring. But he's still only got a bushel of starts of A+ so it's not a big deal.

Mahle spent the second half in AA last year, but the point remains: He's young and generally inexperienced against advanced hitters.

That was supposed to read above A+ if I knew how to type.

Old friend Kyle Waldrop strikes out with the bases loaded for Seattle. Reds gotta rally in the 9th, down 7-6.
