Michigan wins a thriller. Great game played at a high level by both teams.

That was a "phew" game for me. I've got Michigan taking out Louisville in the next round.

So do I, but I'm not feeling real confident about it now.

Nor am I feeling confident about URI over Creighton, Marquette over South Carolina, and SMU over USC, either.

That flagrant on Seton Hall might be the worst call I've ever seen. Don't let that ref call another game. Awful.

Shockers favored by 6, win by....6. There might be something to these advanced analytics.

Hard to beat a team when the refs are completely on their side.

That was a travesty. Like Duke at home bad.

Bearcats win comfortably. They played a solid game. If Troy Caupain is gonna shoot like that, they will be tough to beat.

Caupain played the best complete game of his bright career tonight. Big kudos to him.

Lol. I know you do.

I meant I don't care that you figured.

That was a very one-sided called game for WSU. With good refs they would probably still win, but that leaves a bad taste in my mouth. Crap way for the seniors to go out.

Did you actually watch the game?

Of course I watched the game. I live in Wichita and watch most Shocker games. I have no doubt you believe Dayton got jobbed. I had no doubt coming in Wichita was the better team. Feel the same walking out. Absolute pounding on the glass. Men against boys. Dayton's defense was fantastic, though. I'll certainly give them that.

Does Wichita St always get away with hand checks, fouling the crap out of players near the hoop, and getting fouls called on their defenders when they are breathed on? What about when their big nazi youth center takes 5 steps to a big momentum changing dunk with time expiring on the shot clock? Even the announcers were calling BS on the fouls called on Davis.

Gee, nothing like hiding insult in a comment disguised as a compliment. Typical of a certain fan base though.

No excuses here, but it's unfortunate these two teams had to play each other the first round. Wichita St. isn't a 10 seed. As a UD fan, I would have much rather had xavier's 11 seed and Maryland.

Just to add, I think Big Steve would have made a huge difference in this game. RIP big guy!!

Wichita should have been an 8 or 9 seed. The NCAA wanted the matchup and an ensuing matchup with Kentucky. If Kentucky plays like they did against the Norse, Wichita is going to the Sweet 16.

Speaking of Kentucky, it's a little ridiculous having games end at 12:30 in the morning, press conferences end at 1:30, and the second game on Sunday is the second game of the day.

I mean, they got whipped on the glass. It's a fact. Separately, Dayton played fantastic defense. So there's one compliment and one inconvenient fact for you.

Dayton made that game a lot tougher for WSU than I thought they would. WSU will have a lot tougher time stopping Kentucky, but playing Kentucky will actually be a welcome break on the offensive end compared to yesterday.

I fall in line with RTG concerning the Wichita St./Dayton game. I had no dog in the fight, but the Flyers got hosed countless times by the officiating.

The worst calls were the BS reach in fouls called on Davis in the closing minutes which were actually phenomenal defensive plays (Rafftery was disgusted) and the ridiculous 5 step dunk by that big white dude with the shot clock expiring.

I wanted to scream.

I'm trying to stay away from the officiating because even though I think you're right, it's not the reason they lost. It was theirs to lose and they did it to themselves. When you only make something like 8 shots in the second half, with two of your top scorers going 2 for 19 the entire game, you have nobody to blame but yourselves. But men against boys? Give me a break. They only lost by six while having one of the worst offensive games of the year. These two teams play 10 times, Dayton wins 5 of them. They are not as far apart as everyone is characterizing them as such.

This senior class, with as much as they accomplished at UD, dealt with a lot of adversity throughout their careers. Countless major injuries, having to play almost an entire season with 6 scholarship players, and a death of a teammate. How they persevered through it all with 4 NCAA bids and an Elite 8 is a testament to their character and desire to succeed. I am going to miss all of them.

I am really upset this is the way these seniors went out. Legendary class. Scoochie was amazing and my favorite flyer ever, which says a lot because I went to high school with Brian Roberts haha.

When one team destroys the other on the glass, I don't think it's unfair to characterize it as men against boys. Rebounding is a man's activity.

And there's a reason Dayton had a terrible offensive night. Same reason on the other side that the Shockers had a terrible offensive night. Those two teams are just flat out nasty on the defensive end.

Rebounding is a man's activity? Lol, ok.

UD had 6 steals to 0 for Wichita, and only 6 turnovers to Wichita's 16. Wichita's defense wasn't nearly as effective as UD's was. Dayton's bad shooting had more to do with themselves than it had anything to do with what Wichita did defensively. Too many missed open looks.

I'm done defending though. Just tired of the narrative from many in the media, and those outside of Dayton (with the exception of Marshall), that the Flyers didn't belong on the same court with the great Wichita St.

NKU had a decent showing against UK. I thought it was going to be a blowout. NKU was never really in the game, but they made it look pretty respectable.

Seriously question here: who has the best name in this tournament?

Some nominees: Shake Milton, Daxter Miles Jr.

Though my current favorite is Sanjay Lumpkin.

I always though Troy Coupain was a cool name. Just sounds great on radio.

I'll throw in Scoochie Smith, and yes there is some bias there.

They are better than last year. This team should get past Wichita and even UCLA.

If Monk is hitting, I don't think any team can stop them, especially with Fox and Bam coming into form.
