It will be at least the 10th game of the year (Brewers TBD) before the Reds see a lefty starter.
We need to take full advantage of the minor miracle.

Not so bad considering a righty is on the mound for the Pirates tonight. Scooter will add another lefty bat in the lineup and he needs to get going.

Make Glasnow throw strikes.

Will he walk Peraza? It's the movable object vs the stoppable force.

Well, I decided to break the streak, and sit down and watch the game. I turned on Fox Sports Ohio, and sure enough I have the Cavaliers instead. So tonight will make seven in a row.

They certainly are making it easy for me to give them up.

Good discussion on radio broadcast about what to do with Turner when Mez comes back. Sounds like they all think the Reds may give keeping Turner a shot. I tend to agree unless you've got someone clearly better to keep. I wouldn't cut loose a talented, young player just to have a stiff on the bench that plays other positions.

At the risk of getting run out of the thread, I'm going to go on record and say that I like the way Price has been managing, especially the bullpen.

He's moved away from the save and more toward the using good arms to get out of bad situations. Lorenzen is probably our second best reliever. And I have no problem using him in the third inning to get out of a massive jam that preserves a good lead.

Why? There is more than enough work to go around and this is not an everyday issue. The first Finnegan start he went 7. Garrett went 6 and then Adleman went 7.

I am sure if Davis and Arroyo barely go 5 then they will probably move people around so no one gets over worked.

Of course. I've always thought this type of bullpen usage is refreshing. Relievers going multiple innings. Any guy used anytime. Relief aces used in high leverage situations, even early in the game. A middle tier arm getting a three run "save" ala Storen the other day.

Many other managers would have brought in a lesser caliber arm in the third inning. Price went to higher powered ammo. Refreshing.
