And only 90 mph on those pitches not near the zone. Not an encouraging start to the game.

I could deal with dead arm, in fact that wouldn't surprise me considering for years The Reds have failed to get their pitchers adequately stretched out in spring training.

But I really hope it's nothing structural.

Servo I think you may be onto something with dead arm.

I went through dead arm one spring in high school. I was a fairly hard thrower and one day I just up and lost all kinds of velocity on my fastball. That led to me trying to overcompensate and get it back by trying harder and made my control awful.

Eventually it came back but it absolutely sucked while it lasted.

I´m not saying that he should stay in there.. I´m fine with the decision. He looked bad out there and there was no sign that he´ll get better going forward.

But all of this message sending is nonsense for me. He does know that if he pitches that way he´ll be in the minors soon. It´s not like he´s not trying to throw strikes.

You make a good point. No one is more upset then Brandon but sometimes messages aren't just for that one player. Clearly the reds have gone with pitchers this year who throw strikes consistently. Honestly no, it's not. He has lost home plate. He goes down for a few starts and finds it and he's back up in 2 weeks possibly. At least if he doesn't find it we don't have to put up with 1 innings starts every 5 days. At minimum he should be put in the pen so he can work his way back. Guy might come back and be perfect next start but something clearly not right with him currently.
