Hopefully the weather clears but now it looks like the Gods are unhappy that Cozart was moved up the lineup:

Sorry to be anal, but since Thames owns the Reds, I gave the possessive apostrophe. Seemed fitting given the thread title.

Devin Mesoraco will catch 5 of next 10 games, to make sure he gets one with each of the 5 starters. 50/50 split for foreseeable future

Wouldn't be surprised to see Turner come in in some the later innings in these games, don't think the organization will offer him back till they're convinced Mes is 100%

Sometimes putting a hitter in a "premium" spot in the order can make it tough to relax.

Many years ago, Leo Durocher managed the Cubs and famously hit star prospect Adolpho Phillips in the 8 hole. It got a lot of publicity. LOL, not sure it worked out but seemed like a sound approach.

That raises a question I have. Suppose on ball four a runner on first takes off for second and slides needlessly because the pitch is called ball four. The fielder puts the tag on anyway. The runner comes off the bag after touching it while the tag is still on him. Is he out?

If he touches second and then comes off the bag, and is tagged, he should be out. Once he touches second, the walk situation is completed and the runner is on his own.

What Suarez did was similar, and he was out.

Correct. You are awarded the next base if the batter is walked and you are forced to advance. Once the bag is touched you are in play and can be tagged out if you go past for any reason.

Honestly, yes. I fear that it may be some sort of congenital anomaly. (No, I'm not a doctor, and I haven't seen any of his records. It's just a fear.) Three of the four ball-and-socket joints have needed surgery in the last 2+ years.
