Don't think there was a RedZoan when Schourek was pitching. Hell, the Red's 1995 post season wasn't even on tv on the east coast. Had to listen to Davey leave Schouek in for the 9th inning on the radio.

His stuff has always played better when its warm - the cubs game was a nice warm day. The others have been cool and there's not as much movement

Descalfani sprains elbow in ST and Finnegan strains shoulder two weeks in.

He's been bad, but I'm really not sure why he's the top whipping boy here. Billy is worse and gets to keep his position at the top of the order. I'm more confident in Peraza raising his batting average dramatically then I am Hamilton.

Billy's defense probably saves him from getting more hate but he has no business batting 1st in a lineup ever. Price shows his stupidity day in and day out with that move.

No disagreement there, I know it's been rough lately with all the chair shuffling but Price's bullpen usage has been strange to say the least.

Peraza seems to understand the kind of hitter he needs to be. He certainly did well with it last year. He hits GBs and LDs, although I wish with more authority than so far this year.

Hamilton has unfortunately never shown this. He still seems to swing away, doesn't bunt, hasn't become a GB-LD hitter.

The offense can be frustrating, it's a work in process, but it's been ok.

Far from perfect, too SLG based, but it's a decent group.

This season is all about figuring out the starting pitching. The rest of this is coming along.

Most teams have a weak offensive position or two, it's not a crisis.

Agree with this. He'll make a good backup but he ain't cutting it now. Give him through May considering no one is really busting down the door anyways

Guys never used to go all out. They probably pitched at 50 percent so they could throw all day. The game has changed and now guys throw there hardest every pitch starting before high school. Its obvious why pitchers get hurt so much now.

Yeah but everyone knows he's not gonna keep producing the way he has, the hope was that it would continue at least long enough to get some better production at the top of the lineup. So of course the second the Reds make the move he goes cold.

I have to give you props for championing patience with Peralta. I still think last year's AAA/MLB version Wandy wouldn't be especially good, but the adjustments he made over the offseason have been huge.
