I know there's a "keep Alcantara sharp" argument that Price makes, but man, I'd like to see Gennett start whenever the 2B, SS, 3B, LF, or RF gets the day off.

Looks very bleak that this game will be played. Lots of rain all over. 90% chance throughout much of the day and evening.

I don't get it either. Alcantara should only play when absolutely needed. Gennett needs to be the de-facto backup 2B. Anytime Peraza has a day off, Gennett is in there. Gennett can also play 3B and OF to get him some extra starts. Best utility guy we've had in many years IMO.

I would not be surprised if there are enough breaks in the rain that they can get this in. It looks like the rain should get less steady right around the scheduled start time. It of course depends on how bad the field is at this point and if additional showers fill in from the south:

Have to admit to a selfish reason for wanting a rainout today. I'm going to the CIN/SF game next Saturday and if today's game is rained out, and the rotation gets pushed back a day, that means Garrett will start that game instead of Feldman.

Until he got released in middle of 88. Talked about some weird stuff going on in Reds locker room (Pete Rose issue?) and joined the Dodgers but never pitched. Was there as a just in case really. I rember reading about what he said in the La Times when he joined. One of my favorites of the 80s going to the freaking Dodgers.

Yep. He is right at 100.

The other three I'm pretty sure are Gary Nolan, Tom Browning and Bronson Arroyo. Arroyo is right at 100 if I added his wins up right. I got this question from Jamie Ramsey's twitter account. I may not be around later when the answer is revealed so you can go to his Tweets to find the answer.

Adelman has been pretty decent I have to say. However I'm a Reds fan so my idea of what's decent from a starting pitcher is horribly skewed.

Alcantara: hitting machine

Membengal would disagree but Alcantara will show him the way.

If he builds a time machine and goes back and catches the balls hit to him on Easter Sunday, I will consider it.

Cut him!

Adelman seems to have the maturity that the Reds prospects don't yet have -- I believe he'll end up being the number 5 guy the rest of the year. I would think that Feldman (via trade) and Arroyo (via arm falling off, likely in the 5th inning of a game) will leave the rotation before he does.

I know you're joking, but that's happened (Smiley, Draveky)

Actually not a PH. He came in as part of a double switch when Lorenzen came in and he replaced Alcantara at 2nd.

LOL, just looked at the in-game box score.

The highest season batting average of anyone playing for Reds today is -- (drum roll)?

Alcantara, .333.

If three innings, Lorenzen's out for more than one day.

Iglesias will pitch top nine.

According to Jamie Ramsey the answer to the scoreboard stumper was as I had it earlier in this thread. Soto,Nolan,Arroyo and Browning are your Reds 100 game winners in the last 50 years.

I'll take 3 of 4 from the Pirates. Good series win. Giants are in for the weekend. They have been bad so far this season. Good chance to take another series.

Went back and watched a good part of this game after missing it today. Funny game baseball is, box score only tells you so much. Peraza was robbed of a single up the middle, hit a solid line drive single, and nearly had extra bases on his hardest hit ball that Jaso ran down in RF. He finishes 1-4. Meanwhile, Alcantara hits three ground balls for seeing eye singles to go 3-3.
