Wanted to start a new one off as we are about really to enter summer.

Translation: How far is the ACC willing to take it in the pooper that will make Texas jealous.

It's not the first time ND is mentioned for joining a conference. Any reason to believe they will join one now? They've got a pretty good thing going now. As long as they have that NBC contract I don't know why they'd join

If the ACC will give them everything they want why not? The ACC is desperate to try and keep their seat at the table. Their revenues are lagging (and its only going to get worse going forward) They have arguably 3 of the 4 or 5 top brands "available" when SEC or B1G decides its time to go to 16 (UNC, FSU, Clemson). After starting all this money grabbing I would love nothing more than to see the bluebloods get whats coming to them.

If any of the big 5 is going to fall apart, it's pretty clearly going to be the Big XII. All years away, though.

I'm not doubting that, my thought was always be the 4x16 would be PAC, B1G, SEC, and some combination of "what's left" in either Big 12 or ACC the only question is which banner (if either) would be left to get "whats left". Right now Big 12 is more competitive from a strictly $$$$ than ACC but the "loyalty" amongst its schools to each is probably lower.

I'm not sure that ND "wants" to join the ACC. If they're willing, sure.

When they suck, which they did last year, NBC will start rethinking their deal. But that being said I do believe the contract runs to 2025.

Which is right about when the current CFP playoff deal runs out. We probably shouldn't expect anything much to happen until that next deal-making cycle gets closer.

There has to be way more to that story.

That's the college football head coach equivalent of Brady Anderson hitting 50 home runs.

They get Lincoln Riley for at least a year.

Wow. How long until the real story comes out?

Edit: Twitter rumors, but sounds like it is health related and he was diagnosed with some type of heart condition recently. Really too bad if that's the case.

I see Riley working out like Helfrich at Oregon, a few good years with Stoops' guys then a disaster.
