I would say the reds are highly likely to win, but Arroyo is pitching. Gonna need about eight runs to win this one, it's possible with our offense but it won't be easy. Might need a multi run homerun somewhere in there.

Welsh is playing the company man role but you can tell he knows Bronson has no chance.

I'm pulling for him to improve. That ERA of almost 7 isn't giving me a lot to lean on, though.

I thought for a minute that MAYBE it could work, but it's really not going to get any better. He barely handle 90 pitches a start physically, at this point he's only here because there are literally no other options.
HR allowed then nothing else leaves the infield.

It's not the ERA that's important in this case- its that he keeps them close everytime he goes out - I'm not saying he's perfect, but its not like Alfredo Simon last year who would let the team be down 9-2 in the 4th inning. I just appreciate the fact that he's still competing - of course I wish he was Bronson circa 2010 but that won't happen.

I get what you're saying, but the number of runs he's giving up is important since he isn't giving them innings. He was only able to go 5 today and gave up 3 runs. Now the bullpen has to thrown 4 shutout innings. That's a tall order for any bullpen to absorb. He's had 10 starts has thrown under 52 innings. He's overtaxing the bullpen. If you're going to be throwing pitchers out there that aren't going to give you innings, then they need to be throwing pitchers out there that have a chance at a future with the Reds.

You do realize if all the Reds starters could go at least 5, they'd be leading the division. I'd love for him to go more - and he probably could have given them another inning today, but what I'm saying is I appreciate Bronson's effort.
