Reds front office is to blame too. They are ignorantly stubborn in their efforts to not contend, and rebuild, which is a nice way of saying sucking, until 2018. Phillies are 16-30 and blowing us out.

I remember he was a guy malcontent took a liking to, he often picks random players like Roger Bernadina to really promote.

Looking at his numbers, he's really benefited from the big ballpark in Anaheim. He gave up 7 HRs in 32.1 innings with the Reds compared to a not great but significantly better 8 HRs in 61.1 innings this year with the Angels.

I know I'm just stating the obvious, but if just the team could start getting a quality start 50% of the time, this league-leading Defense and league-leading Offense would make them playoff contenders. Sorry to repeat from a previous thread, but you notice how all that multi-inning relief is down the drain?

Perfect example today. Feldman went five. A one inning stint in the sixth, seventh, and eighth. And likely Iggy in the ninth unless the Reds open it up.

Iggy is now functioning much like the typical closer. Lorenzen the typical set up man (off today).

Interesting, probably just easier to administer without all the long outings.

I think the starters' inability to consistently get deep into games has influenced the pen's usage. Tough to throw guys multiple innings when it could be all hands on deck seemingly any day.

Good point. Particularly since the Reds have been close in a number of games.

With the close games, the Reds keep going to their main relievers most games. Stephenson, Brice, Woj, less so.

I noticed that Peraza's line drive rate was declining. Even though his hitting was generally better.

Today he's had a number of "line drives" (not all smashes).

He needs to keep doing that. He's very BABIP dependent and needs to keep BABIP high with LDs.

Going 1 for 4 ain't the way I wanted it! I can handle things! I'm smart! Not like everybody says... like dumb... I'm smart and I want respect!

When you come see our mother, let me know a day in advance so I won't be there

Hopefully we can win this game but the Phillies have been tough each of the last two nine innings this series.

I noticed that Peraza's line drive rate was declining. Even though his hitting was generally better.

Today he's had a number of "line drives" (not all smashes).

He needs to keep doing that. He's very BABIP dependent and needs to keep BABIP high with LDs.

He's had a LOT of weak contact this year.

He's had a LOT of weak contact this year.

If he gets his line drive rate up, he'll get a lot of base hits. He's not going to hit with the exit velocity of the big boys.

Line drives and medium contact is the key for Peraza. I think he can do it, but he has to perform.

He's been better of late, but has to continue hitting more like late last season.

Reds win!!!

What has happened to Iglesias's control this year? He walks a guy that doesn't walk with two outs in an 8-4 game. I don't understand using him here anyway. Stephenson shouldn't be on the roster if he's not going to pitch in this situation.

Reds win!

Brewers up 8-3 with dbacks bases loaded no outs be nice if dbacks could come back in the 8th.

"This is my first full year in the big leagues. Last year maybe the pitchers didn't know me as well as they know me right now," Peraza said via translator Julio Morillo. "I think they know how to pitch me right now. I've been making the adjustments at the plate. Everything is going to work out for me. It's coming."

Peraza has been putting in the time off the field to make improvements.

"I feel good," Peraza said in English. "I'm working every day in the cage with [hitting coaches] Tony [Jaramillo] and Don [Long]. Sometimes, things don't go the way that you want, but it's part of the game."

QUOTABLE
"We've had a couple of stretches where we didn't win many games and there was never, ever a point where things just shut down in the dugout, where the at-bats didn't matter, where the defense didn't matter, where the baserunning or pitching didn't matter. That's a great sign because there are times, or maybe a stretch, where you feel flat. And we haven't had a stretch like that. It's a credit to the guys and how much they enjoy playing together and what our expectations are, which are to exceed everyone else's expectations." -- Reds manager Bryan Price, on his 24-25 club.

I have no opinion on Schebler flying out to CF

Thank god he wasn't doing it in the Major's

I was not a fan of picking Feldman up. But he has been the genuine definition of #5 starter. Some good, some OK, some terrible outings.

He's not the problem.

Anyway, good win.

Definitely a guy I'm happy to see them be patient with this year. No way I'd give up on him at this point.
