So wonder why Duvall is sitting vs Hill, he hits lefty pitchers pretty well. Then again, Kivlehan is awful vs RHP....spot start I guess.

This. An AAA rotation of Garrett, Reed, Romano, Stephenson, and (when he gets promoted) Mahle would be a great finishing school. Leave them there until August at the earliest.

Very few young pitchers avoid rough patches. You have to be exposed to big league hitters at some point. Garrett sure looked ready earlier.
Not sure what damage was done to Cody Reed. He's healthy. He seems to be gaining his footing at AAA. He gained experience and exposure to the big leagues.
Just have a different view on this.

I feel bad for Garrett but I feel more confident about our chances tonight now. Hopefully Garrett gets better soon and can improve in AAA where he needs to be.

We were wrong. I doubt Mahle, Castillo, Lopez, and Gutierrez get handled the way the Reds have handled this first wave of young pitchers.

Out of sight, out of mind. If a guy is struggling, nobody wants to watch. Send him away.
But a near ready pitcher has to face MLB hitting. Learning to dominate AAA hitters adds little to the equation.
If they fail for an extended period they can go back for awhile.
