I'm surprised that after the ceremony all those fans didn't get up, head for the doors, then the announcer say don't forget everyone there is a game today, and then half of them so oh yeah right, and sit back down disinterested.

Tom Servo

Wojo with a clean 2nd, picks up 2 more strikeouts.

I agree with Welsh, nothing wrong with his arm. And the really nice part is that he isn't handing out free passes.

Wolves198921

LA is pitching their worst rotation pitcher. If the Reds are going to win against LA this year they will need to have at least a two run lead before he leaves the game today. Their bull pen is solid but I wouldn't mind a bull pen showdown to determine the winner.

"I'm 27 and they're younger than me. They're dang kids."

I get that. Just saying that they don't need to be coddled. It is rough out there, that's why they call it, metaphorically (as well as literally) 'the Big Leagues'. Can't protect the little ones forever.

He asked, "When are people going to realize that Joey Votto can just plain hit?" He said that he doesn't know if he's going to drive in runs, but he has 50 RBI's this season and they aren't to the halfway point yet. (I've heard Pete say in other interviews that if you want Joey to have more RBI's, then get some guys who can get on base to bat in front of him.)

Agreed. The Reds have had very few clutch hitters since then.

When your lineup was that loaded you really had more than 1 option to cone through as the Reds have bee reliant on only 1-2 guys to do the heavy lifting. It was crazy though that Dave after his early career struggles was a guy who from 1978-81 led the Reds in GW RBI. They even had that as a stat for a few years. After a while they realized a GWRBI in the 1st few innings really was not the same thing as being clutch.
