Lineups already out for this 12:10 game on the first day of summer. Can you see one thing that is wrong in this lineup?

This is the Free Game of the Day on MLBTV.

IDK still probably better than most of the rotation.

Shrug.

Adelman's pitching from his left hand today?

Maybe the rest of the staff should try their off hand? It couldn't hurt.

If he starts as a LHP, then maybe they can start him again two days later as a RHP.

Rays announcers were saying this was the perfect matchup for Ramirez to get back on track: aggressive but sleepy Reds hitters.

And the Mighty Duvall strikes out. Suarez stands in to pick him up.

Kc61
06-21-2017, 01:16 PM
That Duvall at bat shows you how thin the line is in baseball.

Duvall was up 1-0. Second pitch seemed low, called a strike. Duvall said something to the ump.

If he had gone up 2-0, maybe a different result. 1-1 a very different situation. Ultimately fanned.

Game of inches in many ways.

Ron Madden

Kc61
06-21-2017, 01:18 PM
Wild play there, an infield error, Hamilton took a turn at third, got into a long run down, finally out.

I guess with two outs Billy was running on contact. In retrospect should have just stopped at third, bases would be loaded now.

cumberlandreds
06-21-2017, 01:19 PM
Hamilton put out in a wild rundown. Robertson for the Rays booted a grounder but Billy being Billy rounded third too far and thus a wild rundown sequence followed.

I think either one could be capable of playing the position but Peraza needs time like Suarez needed (and didn't get moving forward) in 2015. Suarez probably has the better arm.

Well as great as this offense has been they are back to being unable to just get runners home from 3rd with 0 or 1 outs. Suarez and Devin this time. It will be someone else next time. Offense cannot sustain this mess of a pitching staff.

Time to drop Hamilton from the lead-off spot (well, probably past time, but...).

Votto has the most PAs on the team, Hamilton 2nd. Hamilton's OBP is 2nd worst of the starting line-up.

This is my seemingly annual subconscious first sign of losing interest. SighSame here. I was busy today and it never crossed my mind. Finally, at 7:00, I realized there was a game. I checked the boxscore, and breathed a sigh of relief. Starters are horrible, bullpen is worn out, manager continues to bat Hamilton leadoff or even at all, and things are a mess. Now we head to Washington with another rookie on the mound, followed by Homer's first start (which is iffy at best) and it's easy to see we could see another sweep ahead. I know there is opposition to obtaining at least one front line pitcher early on, but this club could end up with worse than my predicted bad record. And I'm not sorry when I miss a game. I imagine lots of people in Reds Country feel this way, and that's dangerous. We are smack in the middle of another lost decade. 2014-2017. We're 40% there.
