Peraza with a .282 OBP batting leadoff. Good lord.................Peraza couldn't be any worse than bHam leading off, but Kivlehan in center is head scratching.

OBP of tonight's lineup vs. Wacha:

Peraza - .000
Scooter - .357
Votto - .432
Duvall - .357
Suarez -.444
Shebler - .250
Rocco - .364
Kivlehan- .000

Missing from the lineup at .357 is Barnhart, Cozart at .480, and Hamilton at .167.

Where's Winger? Why bat Mesorocco 8th? Crazy.

Not sure I understand Kivlehan in CF and Schebler in RF. If neither Hamilton nor Alcantara are in the lineup, then Schebler should be in CF, IMO.

However, upon reflection, Kivlehan did play safety for a Division I college football team (Rutgers), so maybe he can play CF.

Yeah, I think the important thing is that Finnegan is throwing without discomfort and with, basically, his normal stuff.

The command is going to take awhile.

Much more concerned about Bailey who missed two years.

He said the other day, on radio interview, that with Bailey and Finnegan there was no real fear of re-injury.

He must feel he's being undermined by medical people, minor league coaches, everyone who keeps sending him these pitchers to get hurt or fail.

Not saying he's a great manager, I'd move on after this season. But Price can't get a break.

This team just can't get on track.
Another lost season.
I'm going to seek out the nearest weight lifter and kick him or her in the balls.

Today's Joe Nuxhall Star of the Game is Wandy Peralta, who pitched two perfect innings of relief with 1 K. Wandy also inherited three runners with no outs and allowed none of them to score, as he induced a 5-2-3 DP and a groundout.

The same reason you are.

I don't want to be this good-looking and athletic. We all have crosses to bear.

Reds are now 2-14 in their last 16 games.

In the NFL, that record pretty much guarantees you a top 3 overall pick.

Finnegan exits in 4th with left triceps strain
Injury not considered serious, but it's uncertain if lefty will make next start.

The injury occurred halfway through the third inning, and while Finnegan could tell something was wrong, he did not want to leave his first game back with another injury.
"I was sitting on the bench in the third, and I could feel it just sitting there. And I was like, 'I think it's tired, and I think it's just sore,'" Finnegan said. "Going out for the fourth inning, warming up, I knew something wasn't right. And in my head -- of course, it crosses your mind -- it's not how you want to come back, especially just after missing two months.

While Finnegan is optimistic that he will be able to make his next start, his availability is unclear until more tests take place Tuesday morning. Due to the limited number of arms in the Reds' bullpen, if Finnegan misses just one start, he will have to go on the DL.
"We need some resources in the bullpen, and you know, with our schedule, the way it lays out now, we don't have any more days off to wiggle around and try to maneuver the rotation," Price said. "To give him maybe a couple days off or something like that, we don't have that flexibility. ... We're not going to jump to any conclusions. However, usually when you have to remove a pitcher from a game due to injury, especially when it's an arm-related injury, you're not optimistic they're going to make their next start. I'm not saying it's not going to happen, but I would say it's less likely, and I'll know more tomorrow."
