Eric Thames rejoices to be in Cincinnati!

https://www.brewcrewball.com/2017/6/27/15878778/series-preview-milwaukee-brewers-cincinnati-reds-june-27-29

He's struggled mightily in the 50 games he's played since he last saw the Reds on April 26th, though, hitting just .198/.327/.413 in 205 plate appearances, striking out 60 times and walking 30.

He has 20 homers this season, 8 vs the Reds.

Love it when Adleman or Feldman pitch. The team plays with much more confidence knowing a MLB level pitcher is pitching. When those two are on the mound even I think the Reds have a decent chance of winning.

It's nothing to get mad at anymore. This team has clearly called it in. You need pitchers to compete and we need a new front office that cares about the fans and will work hard to put together a actual MLB team. This team is uncompetitive.

I'm less concerned with the Reds' projections of recovery time.

I'm more concerned with the sheer volume of pitching injuries.

And I'm talking big league level, not in the minors. So many of the Reds' best pitchers have been hurt lately.

Doesn't seem to be overuse. Is it that the pitchers' deliveries are high effort? Just one after the other.

Finnegan, Disco, Bailey and other starters who are now in the pen, Iggy, Lorenzen, Cingrani.

The two ribbies on Votto's dinger were his first runs batted in since (insert recent date that will still make 2 to 73% of Reds fans mad).

Nice.

Couple hard hit balls go for naught in that inning. The Reds aren't done scoring, I bet.

Tonight's Joe Nuxhall Star of the Game is Adam Duvall, who was 2-for-4 with a double and a 2-run HR, and scored two runs.

Be that as it may, the guest singer in Part 4 holds special significance in these parts.

(And I loved Hee Haw, especially the stuff from the late 70's!)

I love Junior! He may the funniest thing on there, and I think a lot of it is unintentional!

IIRC, I have read that he was a simple minded person. Most of his act wasn't that much of an act. You just have to take Hee Haw for what it is/was. Just silly humor that had no substance. My dad watched that every week back when I was growing up. I hated it then but I have watched some reruns of it and I can see how you could just sit back and relax just watching some complete nonsense to get your mind off your troubles and worries for a few minutes.

My parents watched it a lot when I was growing up, too. I could take it or leave it back then. I would watch if one of my favorite country singers were on, like Hank Williams Jr., Johnny Cash, or Waylon Jennings, but I was more into rock & roll music. But usually I might sit down, watch 5 or 10 minutes, then go do something else.

It wasn't until I got older and watched a couple of old reruns that I developed a new appreciation for the show. As you said, it is a lot of simple nonsense comedy, but it's clean, and you can just sit back and relax and enjoy it. It's almost vaudevillian in a way, and there's actually quite a bit of talent on display. (Roy Clark and Buck Owens are both incredible entertainers.) I enjoy watching it every chance I get, now.

And the scenery wasn't bad, either! (Linda Thompson, Barbi Benton, Marianne Gordon, Lisa Todd, Misty Rowe, Gunilla Hutton, just to name a few.)

Good stuff is pretty timeless. listened to Robert Johnson the other day- he's even older than Davies. Listening to kendrick Lamar right now.
But I'm so old that I wonder if I'll see the end of the rebuild.
