• Rockies catcher Ryan Hanigan originally came up with Reds. He made his Major League debut for Cincinnati in September 2007 and spent the next six seasons in their organization. He hasn't, however, faced the Reds very often since leaving. Entering Monday, Hanigan has recorded just 10 at-bats against his former team, the fewest he's had against any MLB team

Now needs to get more selective and draw a couple of walks.

Peraza and Hamilton certainly haven't been a plus for the offense this year. But the offense is on track.

Bailey's outing tonight is such a huge boost for this team. It's only one outing, but that he's capable of this after surgery/absence is a big plus for the Reds.

Just get this sixth over with, call it a night, and it's a good one in Reds Land.

If the finish .500 the rest of the season, they will win about 74 games. Let's say they go .545, they would win 43 games to finish 80-82. The Reds are now 36-47.

They were 30-54 on the 4th of July last season.

They didn't get their 36th win until July 20th.

Lots of candidates tonight...Billy Hamilton, Jose Peraza, Scott Schebler, Scooter Gennett...

But tonight's Joe Nuxhall Star of the Game is Homer Bailey, who pitched 6 innings allowing only 1 run on 8 hits with 3 K's to earn the win.

and NO WALKS! ;)

solid outing by Homer

Good to see that Homer had a nice game against the Rockies. Let's hope he can sustain this type of effort. The Reds surely need another good dependable arm in that rotation.
