Peraza is the starting 2B, according to Price, who said he didn't want to prevent his development.
Price will "try to" (his words) get Gennett ABs by playing Gennett out of position.

He probably shouldn't still be catching in the majors based on his post-Reds slashline, but the Rockies needed depth.
Oh and this is weird, you know who else spent their age 36 season as a backup catcher for the Rockies? Hanigan's former teammate in "Hernanigan", Ramon Hernandez.

I don't agree. In fact, I like Kelch even more when he's filling for Marty on the radio. He has good chemistry with the Cowboy, and I would like to see the radio crew eventually be Kelch and Brantley when Marty hangs 'em up. (Hopefully sooner rather than later.)

I just can't get into Kelch. Thom is unlistenable. George is the best of the bunch, which isn't saying much, and he's a part-timer.
It's relatively low on my totem pole of concerns, but I'd love if Marty could retire and boot Thom to radio and then hire a legitimate PBP guy.

Used to be a Cingrani fan but not so much any more. Too wild, wastes too many pitches.

I knew it would be Valaika again.
Can't say Valaika (i know it's not Chris) without thinking of Justin Tuner, who I still have no idea how he ended up being this good

nearly posted about how good tony c had been some coming off the DL.
Same. Before this he was literally doing EVERYTHING better than he was last year...other for keeping the ball in the park. That was his ONLY skill last year. This year it's his only flaw. That and giving up a hit to this Valaika jamoke.
Not sure why Price is still infatuated with Brice, he's been pretty bad since his first several outings.

yes, lets all get pissed about a blown call, then come up with a solution that will cause countless more blown calls.
woo!
reminder that the reds would have lost a game they ended up winning earlier this year without replay. the game was literally over.
Thanks so much for the reminder. My opinion is based on my personal enjoyment of the game, not what happened to the Reds anecdotally.
Although, I would prefer a solution that benefits the Reds 100% of the time.
Cingrani is throwing with more snap on his pitches, but hit batsman and walk set up this insurance run.
His rate of free passes is down this year, but it's been his problem since he moved to the bullpen years ago.

By the way, I surprised to see Valaika was still ballin' when I tuned in tonight, and judging by his wiki page I don't think I'm the only one:
Christopher Andrew Valaika (born August 14, 1985) is an American former professional baseball infielder.

I don't particularly enjoy watching two heavy-set men in blue waiting five minutes to find out if a runner's pinky nail came off the bag during his slide.
Snark aside...blown calls still happen and I'm one of the "it's part of the game" guys.

I've seen people making some Bruce comparisons to Schebler due to his tendencies to have a few 0fers in a row, but it seems like Scheb puts together some much better ABs even when he doesn't get a good result.
I've heard Marty say with disdain Scheb is as inconsistent as Jay Bruce many times this season while listening to games at work.
Too many Fans in Reds Country take what Marty says as The Gospel Truth.
They just parrot what they hear believing it's the absolute truth..

Raisor may hate it, but I still think a Louisville stint would help him get back on track.
