New park and the Florida Marlins are still drawing flies. I miss the old burnt orange seats because then you could really tell how empty the park was!

I remember touring the Superdome in New Orleans years and years ago, and they said they purposely painted the seats in alternating colors so that when the camera panned it looked like there were a lot more people at the game than there actually was.

Ok. Now I'm getting jaded. 3 pathetic at bats. And yes Duvall clearly does not understand that they are just not going to give you fat fastballs. Jeepers.

They can't even get deadline trades done without something going wrong. Always something messing it up.

Our beloved club is a raging dumpster fire right now.

Peralta had been good to great except for barely a Handful of games. Even Storen was pretty good up until the AS break as was Lorenzen. Since the AS break it has not but I don't know what bullpen you were watching prior to the AS break.

So...Is there anybody as exciting as Hunter Greene at the top of next year's draft?

They were pretty good for a couple months...at least Peralta and Storen were. But the baseball season lasts 6 months.

Chris won't be on Jimmy Hanlin's golf show anytime soon. He doesn't look good enough in shorts.

Jimmy's usual co-hosts are Natalie Gulbis and Elise Lobb.

You guys really expect the pen to keep pitching 5 and 6 innings every game and pitch like they were in May?

Not with that kind of ceiling.

Hopefully Sal improves his control because does have some great stuff.

This sounds like just about every Reds pitching prospect who throws especially hard.

Lorenzen has pitched 52 innings (before tonight)

Peralta 47

Storen 41

They're all cashed out after that? Ok.

This is like the Dunn era: Score early, take the rest of the night off, watch the other team catch up and go ahead, hit a meaningless HR.

And the As break ended exactly what 2 weeks ago? Is the season over as of the end of July? For 3 months everyone except Wood and Cingrani were good to great considering how bad the staters were. Now one bad half month and it means the year is over and the story is closed?

No it's not closed, but the story keeps taking turn after turn for the worse with those guys. And when you consider their past track records, do you expect it to change? Maybe it will, but I'm not optimistic.

Tonight's Joe Nuxhall Star of the Game is Marlins left-handed reliever Hunter Cervenka, who pitched two innings allowing no runs on no hits with 5 K's and only 1 BB.

The last guy to wear #47 before Sal Romano was John Lamb, not Johnny Cueto.

But I'll cut you some slack, since you're a semiretired broadcaster emeritus who isn't always around the club. ;)
