Nah they'd still be behind Washington, but they might be in the wild card mix. But that was the case last year as well and their big deadline move was Andrew Cashner. And the offseason moves were Volquez and Straily. They lack both the prospects and/or the willingness to spend big money to legitimately put together a strong rotation.

Well who else then? Devin has sucked even worse. Don't care what he has done he's not even hitting goid enough to hit higher than Peraza. The problem is 3 catchers means someone like Winker even with a LH pitching or Elizardo? Who's killing it in AAA and can play OF is not up here to help and play against a LH.

Wojo strikes out the two batters he faces in the 5th.

Because I'm praising him it means he'll almost certainly struggle if he stays in the game but I maintain the Reds pulled the plug too early on giving Wojo starts just because the best team in the NL (Dodgers) ate his lunch in back to back starts. MESORACO HURTS KNEE

Reds catcher Devin Mesoraco left the game before the bottom of the sixth inning because of a sore right knee, and he was replaced by Stuart Turner. Manager Bryan Price removed Mesoraco as a precaution and said he wouldn't start him on Sunday as planned.
During a rehab assignment earlier this season, Mesoraco's same knee bent when a runner slid into him while he covered third base during a rundown. But he's not sure what caused it to hurt again.

"I don't recall a certain play I did up in New York or anything [in the previous series]," Mesoraco said. "It seemed to bother me. I thought today it would be fine. Warming up wasn't an issue. Then once I got out there in the game, I felt it."
