This Reds-Padres series is the unstoppable force vs immovable object series. Reds allow more runs than any team. Padres score the fewest.

I've heard of only two or three of those guys in the Padres lineup.

I miss the days when there were only two divisions, and you played every team in your division 18 times and every team in the other division 12 times. You got to know the other clubs in the NL, and you recognized the names.

Ball got away from the catcher and Thom did the usual thing where he predicts the play before it happens ("runners are going to move up") and then looks dumb when it doesn't happen. So after Gennett GIDP he pointed the finger at Votto not advancing.

Votto didn't advance on a ball in the dirt that got away from the catcher.

Evidently Joey felt he didn't get a good jump, so he didn't go. (Which is the correct decision.)

Reds need to get Senzel into the lineup as early as possible next season. While Votto is still this good, Senzel will solidify this lineup. Winker can help too, even as a heavily used fourth outfielder.

Can't let more seasons go to waste with a hitter who is this great. Stabilize the pitching and add Senzel and you have something, even without huge deals or huge spending.

Reds won't be able to transform pitching to the mid-60's Dodgers or even the 2012 Reds in one off-season.

I think they need to stabilize the pitching with some decent additions and internal growth.

They obviously can't have 6.00 era starting pitching again, they need to chop a full run or more off that.

He should be getting regular ABs against righties but not in every game where he gets exposed as being bad against lefties and not AS good as he looked in a part-time role against righties. He was great how he was being used before they decided to make him a 'starter'.

I really don't like how pitching guru Bryan Price handles pitchers. Almost always seems bass ackwards then supports it with Dusty-like reasoning.

Jeepers. That's not what I said. I said Duvall could use more days off so Winker could go to RF is what I meant. Not LF. He hit a homer? Great. He's also been struggling so if you want to make a 4 man Of work without running him into the ground. You give Duvall some days off. Not just Schebler.

I hope the Reds consider keeping Kivlehan next year. As a bench player against lefties, he has something to offer. Not that worried about his stat line, he hasn't had much time to develop.

Can play CF in a pinch. I'd sign him (not expensive) and bring him into spring training again.

He's pretty bad at every position, honestly. I always find that "he can play center" stuff funny because it gets said about nearly anybody who plays the outfield. Sure, in a pinch you can literally put their name in the scorecard and put them out there in center, but that doesn't mean it won't be bad.

He will be too rich to do that. He will go on a world tour of fancy coffee's instead.

I'm glad I watch the Padres telecast. Thom is just getting worse and worse. He should off to do football soon shouldn't he?

I felt like Price was doing some job saving by taking Adleman out in the 5th. He knows he needs as many wins as he can to try to save his job. Hopefully it won't work. Time to move on from him.

Just think, three more big games against these same Padres. I just can't wait!

Particularly with Schebler out, the Reds very much need Duvall's power in the lineup if they are going to occasionally be competitive.

You have me confused with someone else. All I said was Duvall could use more rest and that when Schebler came back instead of sitting him more you could use Winker in LF and sit rest give a day off? Take your pick. It all meant the same. I did not say bench him or imply that. People say Price needs to figure out how to use all 4 out there. Having Duvall rest a little more is another way of doing it. I don't know what more I implied other than that but that's all I said. So instead of Duvall starting 155-159 games it might be 150. He can still be your best bat off the bench or in a double switch.
