No Kivlehan after his great night....what is Price thinking???? LOL, sorry had to say it....

He's probably thinking that Kivlehan is a righty bat. That the time to add an extra righty bat to the lineup is against a lefty starter.

Tomorrow, Wednesday, the Reds will face a lefty, Wood. So Price may be thinking that tomorrow is a better time to for Kiv to play. And maybe he will.

The pitcher tonight, Perdomo, a righty, has trouble with lefty bats, who are hitting almost .900 OPS against him. So tonight Price is using three lefty hitters and two switch hitters.

I thought Brantley was right on the money.

He seemed a little better as the second inning progressed. Hope it carries over. Take your time, concentrate on executing pitches.

I think Tucker's lack of foot speed cost the Reds a run there on the inning ending double play. When Billy hit that ball up the middle he thought it was a hit and he wasn't going anywhere with Tucker ahead of him on the bases. Consequently he slacked of a bit at the beginning, and then when he saw it fielded and went full blast it was too late to beat the double play and score a run and keep the inning going.

With patience, I think a number of them will succeed. Some in the rotation, some in the pen.

They are just raw, that's all. Young and raw.

23-24 years old for a pitcher, particularly a starter, is very young.

True, but at least like the other two Amir has shown tangible evidence that he can be good as a major league pitcher. I know there's been that discussion here lately that guys have to show *something* early if they're ever gonna be good.

But was that beginner's luck or just beacuse it was his first time around the league? He's vot an advantage because he's left handed so if he doesn't succeed as a starter he might make a good reliever.
