In a lot of places (especially in this part of the country), it is.

Around here, it would be pronounced either "Male" or "May-lee".

Funny how the four Reds prospect pitchers who have advanced are righthanders. The two lefties, Reed and Garrett, are both stuck at the AAA level. If the Reds look for a veteran this winter, maybe they should look for a lefty.

They do have lefty Finnegan, if he's healthy and starting.

He actually started the season in RF, and Marte was the CF. But when Marte was suspended for 80 games, McCutchen moved back to CF.

It wouldn't surprise me if the Pirates (or whoever he is playing for) move McCutchen to either LF or RF again next year.

I've always thought that stupid defensive metrics have made McCutchen seem way worse than he actually is. I would say that he is average to a little below average in center; however, defensive metrics say that he has been one of the worst defensive centerfielders in baseball. I just find that hard to believe.

A friend of mine is a Pirates fan, and I've told him for the last three years that the Pirates and McCutchen would both be better served if he moved to either LF or RF, and served only as a backup CF (much like Eric Davis did later in his career with the Reds). It would cut down on the wear and tear on his body.

Probably he got "messed up in the head" by moving to the bigs. Could have remained a great AAA pitcher, but the Reds broke up his rhythm. Now he's probably scarred for life. LOL, just paraphrasing and exaggerating some posts around here, just kidding around.

Duvall struggles with off speed stuff against righties. It's not a new issue, it just came at a bad time today. Kc said it right in another thread, it's hard to evaluate Duvall on a game to game basis. He's a big play hitter, and when he doesn't get the big play he doesn't contribute as much (his highs are high and his lows are low).

Not worried about the slump. His stats vs righties very steady the last two years. He is what he is, and the end result is still ok, and generally better than the alternative. I think it just makes sense to give him a bit of time off against some tough righties.
