The idea of moving a great defensive 3B who is becoming a really quality bat to put a dude that hasn't played 3B in years there gives me heartburn.

It's ok to trade a player from a position of strength. It doesn't have to be Duvall, it can be Winker or Schebler.

I think he simply could use a couple of days off to recharge the battery. He plays almost every game. Nobody (not even Duvall) talks about it, but his diabetes has to have an effect. I've coached diabetic players in high school, and I know it's not the same, but there were days when they just didn't have any energy. But a day or two later they would be just fine.

There's no way that could end well. I don't know what Price had on the bench but I was thinking he should have pinch hit for Joey there

I thought at least he would come out of the game for the 9th inning. Duvall could have moved to 1B, Ervin could have stayed in the game in LF, and Chacin could have entered the game in the #3 spot in the batting order.

Hasn't Cozart reached twice on an error in the same inning? Has that ever happened before?

He didn't reach on an error the first time. He reached on a force attempt and the error got Billy to 3rd.

I assumed it was just people who were howling. The dogs are much too sensible for that.

The dogs howl cause their ears hurt when they hear that. The people who started it think it's funny and they keep doing it.

I wish someone in the control booth would turn off Thom's microphone and then claim irreparable technical difficulties. Yeah, can't do anything about it. So sorry.

But you'd just know that he'd be a diva about it tomorrow. It'd be nice for tonight, though.

This just in... Thom liked Dwight Gooden.

It went a bit much but I liked it. The common fan has no clue the numbers Gooden put up at an incredibly young age

We'd still hear him over Brantley's mike. I just muted it. No howls. No Thom.

The futility of 2015 and 2016 was pretty remarkable.

No. We lost to a bunch of other guys who either are on the DL or don't play there anymore.

Tonight's Joe Nuxhall Star of the Game is Scott Schebler, who was 2-for-4 with a single and a grand slam, 5 RBI's, 2 runs scored, and a BB.

Way too much food talk during that banter between Jim Day and the booth.

I don't care if you're playing the 27 Yankees, losing 14 in a row is pretty hard. Granted the Met's staff did a number on the Cubs two years ago, but still........ That stat really sums up the Bryan era.

Negated the losses from the day but only a small boost from before this game. Hopefully he goes on a tear now.

He still needs a day off more often.

Played fewer games than both Geno and Joey who have really only been the two, healthy everyday players. Only at a few more games more than billy for that matter

No doubt but this isn't the same team that went to the World Series two years ago.
