Dear Price,

Don't be a loser and a dumby. Please move Suarez up to the top third of the lineup.

How can you do this? Votto should bat third. Everyone agrees. And baseball rules demand that CF bats first and SS second. You cant break those kind of rules.

Very intrigued to see what Garrett gives us after his last minor league game.

The only player in this lineup with a lower OBP than Peraza is the pitcher. The only player in this lineup with a lower slugging percentage than Peraza is the pitcher.

So naturally Peraza is hitting second.

Ervin gets robbed to open the game....

Peraza flies out quietly

Votto seems like he just missed one and flies to semi-deep CF

My totally amatuer take so far on Garrett is he's having trouble controlling his fastball.

Scoreless first for Amir albeit with a walk.

I don't think anyone is arguing right now that Mesoraco with his broken foot should be starting over Barnhart.

True, but hitters can turn around a 94-95 fastball that doesn't move or is located poorly. If Garrett has to back off to 90 in order to get those other things, this is a major issue. He's a guy I want to see the Reds trade in the offseason as part of a package to get a more established pitcher. The shine can't be off him completely yet, can it?

Well, yeah. But when Mesoraco is healthy? Barnhart should still start most games IMO.

I've never been a huge Garrett guy but I think he's somewhere in between the All-Star we saw to start the year and the trainwreck we saw after that. I'm not opposed to trading him but I'm not looking to move him just because. At the very least I think he has a nice future in the bullpen.

I think he's been used just the right amount this year, they had to rely on him too much last year and he wilted.

Peraza has spent the majority of the year batting lower on the lineup when he was playing 2b and now he is always batting 2nd because he plays SS. This is the person who will be managing this team next year because it looks like lo other pitching coaches are extinct. There are no other qualified pitching coaches. They have gone the way of the rotary phone I guess. No one else can possibly do that job. So next year we get Hamilton and Peraza hitting 1/2 and then have Marty and sonny boy wondering why Votto is not driving in more runs.

So the 2 LHP in this organization telegraph their pitches because why?

I can't really fault him much, I'm not sure why the Reds threw him into the fire in the first place when he clearly had stuff still to work on in AAA.

Oh yeah. I have not posted on the Price thread but I quit really paying attention after he was allowed to come back. The 2 teams in this city are both scared of change. I hope people that go to Reds fest just drill Williams on his and the owners decision.

Tony Cloninger

I agree. Amir has stuff and needs to still be learning it in AAA. The issue of tipping pitches though of him and Reed is hard to explain how they both have this issue. Ron Darling keeps talking about it a lot.

Look at the lineup construction tonight. Your worst hitters were hitting 1, 2, 4, and 8 lol. It's illogical.

I missed this one tonight. Just got home from the local HS football game. (An exciting affair--the hometown boys pulled off a 23-21 win on a safety with 1:10 left in the game.)

Just finished reading tonight's game thread and Gameday. Tonight's Joe Nuxhall Star of the Game is Mets RF Travis Taijeron, who was 2-for-4 with a double and his first major-league home run.

As much as I like what Gennett has given us at the plate, his defense is not what I want in my middle INF on a full time basis. I wonder if the Reds brass is thinking the same thing.
