Assuming the Indians cooperate, they'll take a 125-game winning streak into Cincinnati on July 9, 2018. You might want to think about tix.

For some reason, after every game at Busch Stadium someone comes through the press box and lowers every rolling chair as far as it'll go.

Odd to have Winker sit and Ervin in with a RH starter but Winker has played two straight since coming off the DL and today is a day game after a night so caution is understandable.

With 16 games left, Joey Votto needs to reach base 32 times to break his own team record for times on base. He's reached 36x in last 16g.

Joel Luckhaupt‏ @jluckhaupt 45m45 minutes ago

Since start of 2015, Votto's MLB ranks:
Games - 2nd
AVG - 3rd
OBP - 1st
SLG - 6th
OPS - 2nd
wRC+ - 2nd
bWAR - 8th
fWAR - 4th

He's played two days in a row since coming back, and they're going to ease him in. It's just a day off.

Garret gives a walk and an infield single. But gets out of it that includes two K's.

Ervin drives in Schebler on one of the worst errors I've ever seen a SS make.

Good for him. But I would still have Ervin leading off. But it doesn't matter when you are last place team too terribly much.

I would have loved to have seen what Garrett would look like if he had stayed in the minors all season until September.

Amir inconsistent with command. The concentration on trying to regain command in the 3rd, and not on the base runners, cost him double the runs just the command issues cost him.

He would look the same at any level - injured and not the pitcher he was early in the season.

Now that the Reds have had someone thrown out on base, it is an official game.

Three scoreless innings of relief work by Jackson Stephens.

I thought Garrett had better stuff than Weaver. The difference was that Weaver looked like the poster boy for fastball command. Amir looked like the wanted poster.

Reds lose 5-2. Schebler had a double and a triple, Duvall doubled, and Votto doubled and walked. Not much else of note.

Reds scored both runs today because of the Cards defense. I've never seen a contending team with a defense this bad.

I thought Garrett had a good slider and change. Fastball was up to 95 at times. Welsh talked about a failure to deliver over his right knee mechanically and surmised that improved command would result when he made that adjustment. Despite the poor line, I thought it was an encouraging start.

Price said the walks hurt a bit today.

- 3 of them scored

Cannot get much past Price

This doesn't hurt my feelings but it seems like lame criticism (or a joke at his expense) of Price.

Garrett got the start and walked too many. Price comments on it and he's the butt of the joke?
