Joey Votto needs 3 R, 6 RBI, 10 times on base, & 6 total bases to be 1st Red ever to get 100 R, 100 RBI, 300 TOB, & 300 TB in a season.

Joel Luckhaupt‏ @jluckhaupt 4h4 hours ago

There have been 101 such seasons in MLB history, last done all the way back in 2016 by some guy named Trout.

Joel Luckhaupt‏ @jluckhaupt

Votto was 1 time on base short in 2011. He was 3 RBI and 6 times on base short in 2016. Frank Robinson was 5 times on base short in 1962

Horrible lineup if only because it should pretty much stop any complaining about the lineup.

Billy should be batting 9th.

1972 Johnny Bench should be catching and 1976 Joe Morgan should be playing 2nd. I don't know why this is so hard for Price sometimes!

Slide Eugenio over to SS, put Senzel in at 3B.

Any order of Votto, Suarez, Senzel and Winker at the top of the lineup card would be superb next year.

If Hamilton was in CF, it would be a 2-0 game, as he would have gotten to the ball that was a lead-off double in the top of the 3rd.

Duvall had just turned into a huge hole. It's not like he is hitting into bad luck.

Not that Homer has been great tonight, but hard to imagine he won't be in next year's rotation.

Seems healthy, big salary.

Scoreless 4th for Homer.

Peraza with a single and a walk today.

Peraza walking more. Working the counts better.

I just read thru the Schebler appreciation thread. Good stuff.

I even have kind words for him in there. I know I had made a bit of a heel turn on him due to a statistical dispute but I'm a fan.

I think the chickens have come home to roost for Duvall. He was a historical outlier. Something was gonna have to give. Either that or diabeetus.

I've said this before, but I can live with Tucker behind the dish. He's easily the best back up catcher in the bigs and a rock solid starter. Just a pleasure to watch work back there.

He probably won't win it, but he SHOULD win the GG for the national league. But as usual, they'll give it to the bigger name and hitter in Posey most likely.

That didn't look like it hit him. You guys?

Challenge denied. Bases jacked with 2 down. Homer's gone. Michael on the bump

I don't care how excited the announcers were I hated Winker bunting there. Suarez is having himself a miserable time.

Tom Servo
09-15-2017, 09:50 PM
I mean it's on Lorenzen to pitch better but I'm not really sure why Price brought him out for another inning. You've got a million man bullpen and Lorenzen wasn't mowing them down.

Kc61
09-15-2017, 09:53 PM
Price really going for the jugular tonight, bringing in his top relievers. Iggy now for multi-inning save. Against non-contender Pirates.

Guess Reds aren't thinking draft pick.

I think Price is thinking "sure would be nice to get Homer his first W in GABP this year"

Whomever thought that was a good idea was wrong. Took the bat out of Votto's hands. But at least he's got brownie points with the Brenamanns.

Imagine if Price had been this proactive about winning games back when he had Chapman and winning was actually the Reds #1 goal.

2 Things:

1) The Reds have a real chance of passing the Pirates in the standings this season.

2) I was really hoping that MLB would make a mistake and forget to schedule all Pirates-Reds games next season. I was really disappointed when the schedule came out.

I always get melancholy at this time of year. Been a crappy season, thin crowd at the end of the year for a cellar club, Reds baseball is about done, and no more local baseball till next spring. Leaves are turning a smidge, thoughts have turned to football, and one more Reds season down for me. #55.

Total bases after tonight: check. Times on base and runs should be a shoe-in. The RBI might be the hardest task for Votto to get.
