I have never felt that Ervin was an adequate defensive center fielder. The two run double by Fowler was a ball that most MLB center fielders catch and Billy catches it easily. Cost Bailey two runs in the inning.

If Davis was telling Price, a former pitcher, that Ervin could play, I don't think he would have gone so long between starts. The Reds have been watching Ervin for five years. It is not like they have no idea what he can do.
