There have been 4 or 5 pitches called balls that were strikes according to Gameday. He is getting squeezed....

Scooter!!! GRAND SLAM

- - - Updated - - -

I believe that is his 3rd grand slam this season if I am remembering right. Actually that was his 4th this season which is a Reds record for a season

8 Reds Grand Slams this season (one short of the team record) of course half of those are Scooters

I like Joe Morgan but his memory of the sixth inning of game seven of the 1975 World Series is wrong. Johnny Bench did not lead off the inning with a base hit. Pete Rose lead off with a single. After Morgan flew out, Bench hit what should have been a double play but Rose barreled into second base and prompted a bad throw, which kept the inning going with two outs. Tony Perez then hit a HR against Bill Lee to cut the deficit to 3-2.

I liked the Winker and Suarez 1/2 in the order. I know if Hamilton is hitting well he can create some offense but it would have been nice to see that lineup again.

Hamilton with his 2nd hit. 1st and 3rdGlad Cozart kept Billy from getting thrown out stealing in the 1st by hitting the double. Thought they should have done the hit and run the 2nd time also and let Cozart get Romano in on a grounder to the right side.

So can we fire Price if the pitchers regress also? It seems the pitching has been no better or that much improved at all.

Price won’t get fired, but hopefully the Reds are being realistic about these young pitchers. Euphoria is for fans; hopefully the Reds are being more analytical about it.

Scooter Gennett is the first player ever to hit four grand slams and have a four-homer game in the same season. The only other player to have a four-homer game and hit four grand slams in their career? The Iron Horse - Lou Gehrig.

Young pitching will always have ups and downs. Romano pitched 8 scoreless against the hapless Pirates, but the Red Sox are a different animal.

I thought Ramirez had hit that one out.

5-4 BoSox headed to the bottom of the 9th.

Reds lose, 5-4, in that high draft choice stretch run.

Don't think I've ever witnessed a 29 post game thread. Baseball is baseball, but I guess winning is everything.

Tonight's Joe Nuxhall Star of the Game is Scooter Gennett, who was 1-for-3 with a BB and a club-record fourth grand slam of the season.

"It's Friday this team sucks"Yeah, but I know seasons where no matter the record. people were here. We have morphed into a fan base who simply couldn't care less due to what they call the "rebuild" which is really better described as a vehicle to save funds, and appears to last a decade. I understand that, but the fans are the unwilling participants are forced to watch losing baseball because we want to make a profit. Small team hooey and all that. Five years of losing and still we see no changes while the most faithful long for top draft picks and the rest drop off. Just heard our one FM Reds station will not be carrying the games next season because of lack of sponsorship, a place that four years ago, had to turn away sponsors from 2010-2012. Tickets are cheap now and traffic is light. One advantage, I guess. The manager sucks and the team is lacking. If the Reds don't make some moves over the winter, it will be worse next year. Rant over.
